We're currently looking for a Senior Facilities Engineer- Manufacturing to join our team in Canton, Mississippi
Job Summary
Provides engineering support to assigned areas in manufacturing, maintenance, and facility operations. Recommends, plans, coordinates, documents, and implements plant and process control systems on a company wide basis. Develops specifications for new models and modifications to existing models to improve production uptime in assigned areas. Provides guidance and leadership to lower level engineers. Coordinates with contractors in assigned areas to provide engineering support, technical assistance, and training. Communicates with suppliers to provide guidelines, specifications, and engineering support to ensure Nissan goals of quality, cost, and delivery. Contributes to building brand value and achieving enduring profitable growth.

  • Responsible for Canton campus project development and project management in assigned areas consisting of new construction, remodel, or renovation of buildings, facilities, and equipment. Duties to include, but not limited to estimation, preliminary surveys, drawing preparation, scope of work, contractor sourcing / pre-bid meetings, project folder preparation, construction document reviews to ensure adherence to IBC, NEC, NFPA, project initiation, project execution management, and project closeout.
  • Leads Electrical Engineering projects for Canton campus to include but not limited to, Arc Flash compliance, UPS, emergency generators, power distribution for high voltage, (115 kV-230kV), medium voltage (2.4kV-69kV), and low voltage (240-600V). Lead electrical engineering operations for Canton campus acting as technical SME for in-house electrical maintenance team including repair and maintenance activities. Lead electrical engineering operations for on-site switch yard operations (161kV to 4160V) including repair and maintenance activities.
  • Develops multi-discipline project estimates and project management for assigned projects including but not limited to the following: new construction, remodels, renovations, general power distribution, weld power distribution, compressed air, weld water, mechanical systems, etc.
  • Project manage projects to ensure adherence to schedule, codes, invoiced per cash flow, within budget, per scope, and per specifications for project.
  • Updates and maintains electrical drawings for new and modified infrastructure in assigned areas.
  • Provides Electrical Engineering problem solving; ensures continuous reliability and uptime improvement, accuracy and ease of use enhancements, analysis of trends and symptoms, and identification of missing or misleading information in assigned areas.
  • Assists with new long / short-range planning studies, estimating, and budget development within assigned areas.
  • Communicates with suppliers concerning performance of their products, improvement, and potential cost savings; works with suppliers to investigate new technologies, and to resolve problems and concerns.

Minimum Qualifications
The following qualification statements reflect the minimum skills and abilities required of the qualified applicant.
Job Knowledge and Skill:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, project management skills, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and provide direction.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws relating to safety, codes such as NEC, IBC, NFPA, etc.
  • Ability to develop electrical engineering design.
  • Must have above-average troubleshooting and computer skills and be capable of working without close supervision.
  • Leadership skills for future upward mobility are desired.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience at a professional level required. 10+ years preferred.

Education:
  • A four year degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Engineering Technology required. (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil preferred)
  • Education may be substituted for years of experience (2 years of experience per year of education).

Computer Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to create specialized applications or products of a highly technical nature.
