Job Description
Manages, plans and oversees activities and staff of the Volunteer Experience Program to achieve goals and objectives. Defines and implements processes and procedures for staffing to ensure volunteer & shadowing program objects are met within hospital.
Job Responsibility
- Provides Leadership to the Volunteer Experience team members, Supervisors and Managers by communicating and guiding towards achieving department objectives.
- Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the Volunteer Experience department.
- Evaluates, recommends and collaborates with Patient Experience Culture Leaders to develop site-specific programming in alignment with Patient Experience strategy.
- Oversees and manages Volunteer Experience operations which includes onboarding volunteers, interviewing candidates to ensure placement based on skillset in appropriate programs.
- Develops and maintains team member annual goals and objectives of the Volunteer Experience program.
- Collaborates with unit and department leadership to create meaningful volunteer programming based on the voice of the patient/family and frontline team members.
- Promotes volunteer opportunities for both personal and career development and provides a mechanism for a lifelong relationship with Northwell Health.
- Manages & develops financial budget for department operations.
- Ensures that volunteer activities comply with relevant regulations, policies and standards to align with department goals and objectives.
- Coordinates with local community groups to recruit volunteers for the health system.
- Evaluates and manages volunteer placements within the program based on volunteer's skillsets, abilities and interests.
- Reviews and educates health system leadership, teams and patients/community members regarding Volunteer programs to improve key indicators.
- Recruits, orients and trains volunteers while evaluating the performance in collaboration with volunteer leadership.
- Builds and maintains productive interdisciplinary working relationships within the health system to optimize program operations.

Job Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and
- 6-10 years of relevant experience and 5-7 year of leadership/management experience, required.
