In this role, you'll apply your strategic and analytical skills supporting our premium card products and experiences team, with a focus on our travel and lounges businesses. Joining An American Bank Holding Company's Card Legal Team will introduce you to a Fortune 100 company through its largest and most prominent line of business, at the heart of An American Bank Holding Company's innovation and technology journey. You'll be a key player advising on the development and evolution of our travel business and how it intersects with our broader premium brand products, benefits and features. You'll partner with the business by strategizing about new products, features and promotions, learning about and understanding the business initiatives, investigating and assessing the legal and business risks, and advising on customer experiences intended to deliver value and benefits to our customers. You'll also have the opportunity to learn and partner with a bright, collaborative and dynamic group of attorneys who support the broader Premium Products and Experiences business line, as well as build working relationships across the Legal department. And you'll work in a collaborative, supportive environment that values your insights, promotes continuous learning, and rewards creative thinking.
To succeed in this Senior Manager, Senior Counsel role, you'll need strong legal and business analytical skills. Written and oral communication skills also are key, as is the ability to efficiently and effectively organize thoughts on legal risk, focusing on what matters in driving business initiatives forward responsibly.It's a real plus if you have expertise in or significant experience with consumer financial regulatory laws, marketing and advertising laws, travel or entertainment industry laws, and/or general risk management.
This position will report to a Senior Director, Associate General Counsel in Card Legal and will have responsibility for:

• Identifying and assessing legal risks associated with An American Bank Holding Company's travel business team, a core vertical of the Premium Products and Experiences business line;
• Knowing your business in depth so you can translate and apply laws and legal requirements for the business teams and the business intent for the legal team and legal subject matter experts;
• Actively engaging with colleagues to provide legal support as part of a collaborative and cross-functional team; and
• Working with Card, Brand, the Card Business Risk Office, Corporate Communications, and Compliance stakeholders to address risks, develop creative solutions, and resolve issues.

This position will entail regular interactions with senior business partners, Legal Department subject matter experts, and other business attorneys in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Active member in good standing of at least one state bar
• At least 4 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, in-house legal department, or government agency

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, in-house legal department, or government agency, ideally involving consumer regulatory or consumer financial services, or travel or fintech industries
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and flexibility to adapt to changing needs
• Ability to build collegial and effective relationships with attorneys, business managers, creative teams, analysts, project managers, and corporate compliance professionals, and work cooperatively to resolve issues smoothly
• Ability to prioritize work and to manage multiple, simultaneous deadlines
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others
