Position Description
The Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Senior Manager for the Massachusetts Community Violence Intervention Capacity Building Initiative (MCVI-CBI) will provide violence prevention and intervention Technical Assistance to five violence prevention grantees across Massachusetts. The Senior Manager will develop and implement training for MCVI-CBI in collaboration with HRiA staff and sit on the projects implementation team. They will provide significant project management expertise in a fast-paced, high-intensity, high-visibility context to ensure the effective, efficient, and timely project implementation. The Senior Manager should have significant experience and skills in violence intervention and response. Applicants with experience in both frontline work and Training and capacity building will be prioritized.
The TTA Senior Manager will:
Lead the TTA program for the Massachusetts Community Violence Intervention Capacity Building Initiative.
Training development (including training materials), delivery, and evaluation and all associated tracking;
Manage all aspect of Technical Assistance development and delivery
Provide training on a variety of violence prevention topics, including but not limited to: street outreach, conflict resolution, motivational interviewing, and more;
Function as a subject matter expert and a coordinator of subject matter expert (SME) trainers;;
Regularly travel around the state to meet with grantees
This is an exempt, full-time position with a salary range of 80K-90K based on skills and experience. The TTA Senior Manager will work a hybrid schedule and will work regularly in the Boston, MA office (requiring up to 3 days in the office per week), as well as remotely as appropriate to the role and as discussed with and approved by their supervisor. This position will require local travel around Massachusetts. A valid drivers license is required and access to a personal vehicle is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
Management:
Leading the TTA and training aspect of the MCVI-CBI project, including workplan development, meetings, and relationship-building with grantee sites
Creating, implementing, and managing TA and training workplans for five grantees
Communicating effectively, efficiently, and appropriately with the team.
Coordinating and participating in team meetings, in collaboration with the Director and the supervisor of the project.
Scheduling of the trainings and events for the project.
Project Work:
Develop and refine the training curriculum and events for the MCVI-CBI, including Training Intensives and Conferences.
Lead the development of Training events and activities in collaboration with staff at HRiA, including identifying and engaging SMEs consultant trainers for the project.
Conducting in-person trainings and providing Technical Assistance to staff at all levels at grantee sites funded through HRiA's MCVI-CBI initiative and incorporating feedback for program enhancements and continuous quality improvement.
Contributing community violence prevention expertise and related topics to development, implementation, and evaluation of the MCVI-CBI.
Contributing technical skills and/or content expertise to other related HRiA projects and to the organization, as appropriate or needed.
Collecting and reporting data for overall evaluation and reporting for the grant.
Thought Leadership
Translating violence intervention and prevention implementation and programming subject matter expertise into accessible and informative trainings and Technical Assistance provision.
Contributing to MCVI-CBI and HRiA website content, blogs, and other sources to share and promote our expertise.
Presenting at local and state conferences/events with senior HRiA staff.
Identifying and implementing improvements in project and/or organizational processes and systems through participation in teams and committees.
New Business Development
Contributing to proposal writing and/or submission as needed; this may include working with HRiA staff to prepare scopes of work and budgets for contract extensions, as well as working with HRiAs Associate Director of Development to prepare proposals for rebids or other new opportunities to expand upon the work of MCVI-CBI.
Working on other HRiA violence prevention projects as needed
Typical hours are Monday Friday, 9:00 am 5:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to fulfill the duties of this position. HRiA supports flexible schedules to ensure work-life balance and to accommodate staff and clients working across the country in various time zones.

Candidate Qualifications
Bachelors degree and five years of professional experience working in community violence intervention and/or training with CVI professionals OR eight years of professional experience in community violence intervention work or related training. Lived experience in combination with other educational and professional experience will also be considered.
Preference for individuals with experience working in violence intervention with populations at highest risk and for individuals with direct frontline experience.
Experience in Training and facilitating engaging workshops, activities, and/or small groups, including strong group management skills.
Ability to engage multiple outside stakeholders and consultant trainers and hold partners accountable.
Ability to connect well across differences (e.g., culture, age, etc.) and respect cultural differences, backgrounds, and perspectives.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience in public speaking, facilitation, and training delivery, as well as ability to adjust style and messaging depending on the audience and medium.
Proven project management and organizational skills and an ability to juggle multiple competing priorities and timelines.
Ability to travel to grantee sites in and around Massachusetts (at HRiAs expense), valid drivers license, and access to a vehicle.
Massachusetts residency required given the focus on local community organizations.
