Essential Duties of The Senior Manager Logistics

  • Manage, engage, and develop a multi-faceted 24x7 operations team to support all aspects of the Command Center. This includes multiple teams focused on aviation, ground transportation, travel, and transplant clinical coordination, all to work in harmony to ensure clinical resources, equipment, and organs arrive where and when needed.
  • Hire, develop, and actively mentor the LCC staff, including logistics coordinators, air dispatchers, etc. Build a world-class, highly responsive, customer-focused team committed to delivering a white glove service while maintaining a collaborative, results-driven, fun culture.
  • Assess the logistics network and make strategic trade-offs to optimize the entire network rather than missions in isolation.
  • Establish SOPs to drive clear, consistent decision-making across all areas of the logistics network. Develop and implement logistics processes that lead to improved time to delivery and minimized cost- per-mile traveled.
  • Serve as an escalation point for any issues that arise from within our logistics network or with customers and look for cost-effective, customer-focused solutions that keep the patient as the highest priority.
  • Utilizing a high level of judgment, reviews and approves logistics quotes prior to sending them to customers.
  • Drive continuous process, interface, systems, and procedural improvement to attain the highest efficiency and customer service levels.
  • This job is full-time at our Andover, MA, Logistics Command Center (remote shifts are prohibited). Each Senior Manager will serve as the shift manager for their assigned shifts. The Senior Manager is expected to work approximately 15 12-hour shifts per month, scheduled on a monthly basis, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Operate with a keen understanding of the significance of the work that the LCC supports and retain focus on the best interest of our patients and saving their lives.
  • Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and team projects as assigned
  • Attend team meetings outside of call hours as necessary
  • Perform other company tasks and duties as assigned

Background and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, operations management, business, science, or related analytical field plus 5 years of experience in a command center/control tower and/or managing logistics/transportation operations in a fast-paced, highly unpredictable environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 years of people management experience, hiring, retaining, and growing diverse best-in-class teams
  • Tech savvy and able to quickly learn various apps to manage the relevant processes
  • Must be available to work a rotating schedule (including nights, weekends, and holidays)
  • Highly organized and adept at multi-tasking, prioritizing, and making sound decisions in a fast-paced, high-urgency environment with multiple simultaneous inputs
  • Must possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills in order to drive processes to closure in high high-stakes, fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and the big picture
