SAIC is seeking a Senior Manager, Government Relations to super-charge our ambitious Government Relations efforts and support our business goals. This individual will work closely with all members of our highly regarded Government Affairs team to identify key funding and policy trends, develop strategic positional messaging, inform our internal stakeholders about the issues shaping our markets and customers, and help facilitate engagements with Congress, the Administration, and third-party partners.
The successful candidate will:

— Assert leadership in identifying key political trends shaping the future of our business, and in recognizing opportunities to break down silos in order to cultivate success in those efforts
— Take ownership of developing and refining complex political messaging
— Demonstrate excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and political acumen
— Have a deep and timely knowledge of issues related to Congress, federal agencies, and state and local government, and be conversant in elements affecting all of SAIC’s diverse business interests
— Be comfortable and effective in communicating information to employees at every level of the business, with a heavy emphasis on strong writing
— Thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic setting
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in political science or a related field with 18+ years total experience supporting political officials, campaigns, private sector government affairs, communications, and/or marketing efforts, including at least 10 years in the field of federal contracting and technology integration.
— Proven expertise in developing sophisticated communications for employees and senior executives regarding the federal budget, policy, and the political landscape to inform federal business efforts
— Exceptional writing skills, with a track record for producing consumable external-facing policy-oriented content including newsletters, op-eds, and blogs
— Demonstrated knowledge of the federal appropriations process and major policy trends affecting federal technology integrators
— A deep understanding of social media, with a known history of successful campaigns on platforms including LinkedIn
— Previous experience with federal, state, and local lobbying and political compliance efforts
— Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and serve a diverse set of internal stakeholders
— Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate political trends and apply them to business strategies
— A reputation for being able to work well within high-performing teams and across multiple business functions
— Proven success in working with third-party partners to develop and elevate key messaging
Target salary range: $175,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
