The Transport OpsEng (GTOE) team provides the top tier of support for the Transport devices supporting our worldwide services across all Lumen networks. The team also provides technical leadership of key network migration, maintenance, and upgrade activities. The team has broad ownership of the quality of the service we deliver to our customers, and as part of that has deep knowledge of optical and electrical transport technology and the vendors and platforms that form the Lumen network. The GTOE Eng team is responsible for ensuring that our 24x7 NOC surveillance team has all the information and capabilities it needs to perform their role. The GTOE team is engaged to resolve those troubles that the NOC needs assistance on. The GTOE team is also supporting our organizational Transformation objectives by becoming the source of an increasing number of NetDevOps engineers who generate impactful automations to improve operational efficiency and network reliability

The Senior Manager Customer and Network Transformation will be the leader of this team and will build and strengthen the core technical support functions of the team but also drive innovation in process, tools, and technology to allow the team to devote a decreasing fraction of time to reactive actions and an increasing fraction of time on proactive actions to anticipate and prevent problems. The Senior Manager will lead and coach his team members and ensure that the team's processes are suitable to maintain the highest level of efficiency and network reliability. The Senior Manager will be a key interface to the NOC, Repair, Planning, A&E, Product, Spares, IT, and Delivery teams. Another key role for the Senior Manager will be managing technical and quality issues with vendors.
Required skills:
Strong professional experience and a proven understanding of optical and electrical transport technology
Demonstrated knowledge of network management principles
Familiarity with network automations and software development methodologies
Ability to handle many simultaneous tasks, demonstrate a sense of urgency and ownership to drive issues to completion
Exceptional facilitation skills; must be able to lead and demonstrate value add programs related to complex project execution
Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship-building skills conducive to collaboration at all levels
Excellent analytical and management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
Must have at least 5 years in technology-related business experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related discipline with an information technology focus or equivalent experience
