Overview
With safety as a priority, the Sr. Maintenance Technician will be required to conduct routine maintenance, install new equipment, and troubleshoot production equipment on site. Duties could also include removing old equipment, training staff on equipment operating procedures, and resolving facility / building issues.
This position is expected to work on both manufacturing equipment (70%) and office facilities and equipment (30%).
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Ensure that manufacturing machinery, systems, infrastructure, and equipment run optimally with minimal downtime.
- Uses advanced troubleshooting skills to respond to major equipment breakdowns in a timely manner
- Train/coach staff on operating equipment and maintenance procedures in an efficient and safe manner by using established SOP's
- Imparts knowledge and skills to assist in the development of other staff members
- Update and create SOP's as needed.
- Applies preventative measures to the operational equipment and building to reduce the risk of future problems.
- Addresses potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
- Build, maintain and improve computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), through documentation of work orders, ticket follow up and scheduling of equipment maintenance.
- Resolve facility issues using FMX ticket (CMM's) system.
- Identify improvement opportunities through on-the-floor observations and through collaborations with other operations leaders.
- Brainstorm ideas and solutions to solve the issue at hand while being mindful of the efforts required to complete the request. Perform cost-benefit analysis to justify the proposal.
- Work with multiple locations to ensure adoption and implementation of a standardized maintenance program, using and/or improving SOP's.
- Work with new product development team to qualify manufacturing capabilities for product launch.
- Work on and assist with maintenance repairs and parts ordering as needed.
- Maintains quality work by following-up on completed maintenance tickets to verify /validate proper repair.
- Abide by 6S Work Standards.
- Projects a sense of urgency as an understanding of the importance of maintaining equipment functional.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills
- Excellent communication skills - good structure and clarity in written, oral, and presentation materials.
- Collaborates with supervisory personnel to prioritize competing demands
- Must be committed to safety and model same for other employees
- Ability to read system schematics.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills with Pneumatic, lubrication, electrical, drive and hydraulic systems
- Demonstrated proficiency in usage of MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years in a similar role
- Experience in using electrical and manual tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Advance troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a technical discipline, preferably in Industrial Maintenance/Technology
- 5+ years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment
- Understand TPM Theory and Concepts
Physical Requirements
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Excellent manual dexterity - uses hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
