We are looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to architect, implement, and optimize Machine Learning systems and contribute to the success of our data science initiatives. You will report to the Vice President of Data and collaborate with the Engineering, Data Science, Data Engineering, and Infrastructure teams.
What You'll Do
- Understand the steps and methodology data scientists follow, and build tools to support and accelerate their process to create value
- Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to build systems that will deliver data science solutions to the rest of the organization
- Develop internal tools to improve dataset creation, model training, and deployment
- Build robust monitoring and alerting systems around the models and tools we use to ensure stability
- Identify potential projects that can help the team and organization work more efficiently together
Skills You Have
- A bachelor's or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of combined experience in Machine Learning Engineering and software engineering, with a focus on infrastructure and pipelines (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in Python and cloud deployments
- Comfort using cloud permission models (ie. AWS IAM)
- Experience with JVM-based stack and languages like Java and Kotlin
- Experience with the technology of AWS, Airflow, Docker & Jenkins
- Ability to operate with minimal direction to drive large-scale initiatives
- Can expertly design efficient, clear, robust, maintainable, and scalable domain-level solutions
- Ability to analyze new technologies and their impact when incorporating them into a system
- Deep experience with IaC tooling such as terraform, helm, etc.

Where you’ll work: This is a hybrid role, meaning you’ll work from home roughly three days per week and collaborate with other team members in person at our HQ in Austin, Texas for the remaining work days.
