Job Posting
Duties include providing information, reference and reader's advisory services for library customers; instructing customers in the use of library technology and searching the online catalog, databases and the Internet; handling collection management; supervising the work of assigned staff; and assisting with development and administration of departmental procedures and division budget. The Senior Librarian will lead the Adult and Young Adult Fiction systemwide ordering team and will meet regularly with the other selectors to manage ordering practices, and identify system needs. Duties also include planning and implementing library events, classes and other activities for adults and families at one of the branch libraries, and promoting and marketing library services; and preparing various informational and statistical reports and presentations. Possession of a Master of Library Science degree from an American Library Association accredited college or university and three years increasingly responsible public library experience are required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills beneficial. Hours will vary and include evenings and weekends. A résumé must be submitted with application.

  • Employees that successfully complete their 6-month orientation period will receive an additional one-time payment of $1000 provided there are no documented attendance or disciplinary issues.
  • Employees that successfully complete one year of employment without
    documented attendance or disciplinary issues will receive an additional one-time payment of $1000.
  • The maximum amount of hiring incentive that an individual employee may receive is $3,000.
