Tuknik Government Services, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Senior IT Help Desk with a Public Trust Clearance to support TGS and our government customer in Carlsbad, NM.

Under the general direction of the IT Operations Manager, provides top-tier support to end-users for either workstation and server applications and hardware. Handles problems that the subordinate Help Desk support is unable to resolve. May interact with Systems Administrators, Network Engineers, Program Analysts, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct problems. Reproduces issues to resolve operating difficulties. Recommends systems modifications to reduce user problems. Maintains the highest level of technical skill in the field of expertise. Escalates all unresolved Help Desk Issues to IT Operations Manager.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Candidate must possess 2 years of experience in performing IT-related customer support including, but not limited to, Help Desk, NOC center, service, desk, and/or remote support.
  • Assist in the training and oversight of ticket generation and completion to ensure that metrics for deliverable reporting are accurate and timely.
  • Extensive experience in the administration of Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions such as Blackberry UEM including secure workspace and PKI.
  • Experience managing mobile devices through a central administration console/server including the use of PKI encryption is highly desirable.
  • Independently administer users, computers, groups, and security functions in Microsoft Active Directory
  • Provides Information Technology services including system analysis, requirements analysis, design, development, implementation, testing, maintenance, and configuration control. Develops complex IT hardware/software systems.
  • Perform server software and/or hardware maintenance and upgrade tasks under the direction of the Systems/Network engineers.
  • Participate in end-user training sessions to brief staff on cyber and technology rollouts.
  • Identify trends in IT Help Desk operations and present findings to management.
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Requires 4 years of relevant experience with 2 years of experience in administering Microsoft Windows Active Directory environment including the resolution of technically complex service requests.
  • Up to 1 year of an accredited university or college education in Computer Science and/or a related field may be substituted for 2 years of relevant experience.
  • The substitution of education for relevant experience for this labor category must be approved by the government on a case-by-case basis.
  • CompTIA certifications such as IT Technician, A+, Security +, and/or Network + are highly desirable.
  • Complete CBFO training and briefings as directed.
  • Travel to the WIPP site once a week or any additional time as requested.
  • Public Trust Clearance

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
