Role: Senior Instrumentation Engineer
Location: This is designing phase of the project so remote is ok for now but when it goes for commissioning – candidate will have to travel to work site for which travel expenses are paid
Candidate should have worked for any EPC companies in the past.
JD:
· Delivering conceptual and detailed instrument system designs based on project specifications and engineering inputs following applicable specifications, standards and codes
· Liaising with other disciplines through work development; investigating, advising and resolving complex design and field engineering problems
· Analysing problems, organizing investigations, and determining specific design criteria
· Assuring compliance with project schedule and control estimates
· Preparing requisitions and specifications for instrument field equipment and SAS/ICSS/DCS site supervisory and control system modifications, especially those interfacing with electrical equipment, including clarifications, negotiations and change control
· Developing and checking of data sheets, cause and effect diagrams, block diagrams, loop drawings and other typical instrument and controls deliverables
· Developing procurement documents and technical stewarding of instrumentation packages (Control Valves, On/Off Valves and various other instrumentation) throughout the design, procurement and construction life cycle
· Preparing automation & metering philosophies, functional specifications and system / network topology for automation systems
· Preparing I/O schedules, control narratives, Cause & effect diagrams and System Control diagrams (SCD)
· Delivering automation system design including SAS, SIL, F&G, and emergency systems
· Selecting field instruments used for pressure, temperature, flow, and level measurements
· Performing and/or reviewing sizing calculations for flow instruments, control valves, pressure safety valves and actuator sizing
· Approving supplier documentation and follow up delivery of equipment and documentation such functional specifications, technical specifications and typical instrument drawings.
· Preparing documentation for onshore and offshore installation
· Estimating of cost and weight in a multi discipline environment
· Participating in onshore/offshore survey and equipment FAT/SATs
Professional Experience:
· A bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics & instrument engineering and registration with PEGNL as a P.Eng. (preferred) or an EIT.
· Experience in an engineering design role with a focus on Front End, FEED and EPC scopes within the offshore energy industry
· Solid engineering knowledge of instrumentation design codes and standards
· SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) and Control Valve Engineering experience is considered an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $76,786.66 - $135,000.00 per year
