As the Senior Information Security Risk Auditor you will work with a collaborative team to facilitate and ensure the organization's adherence to domestic and international laws, regulations, guidelines, policies, and specifications relevant to its collection, storage, use, and dissemination of data and informational assets to minimize the effects of financial, strategic, operational, and other risks. You will also be involved in analyzing, educating, and advising clients on Information Security/risk management topics within their business operations portfolios to help them make the best possible choices relative to risk mitigation and educating and communicating security requirements and procedures to all users and new employees. You will also participate in sales and marketing strategy work with internal business partners and/or external clients including advising on acquired entities and their risk portfolios.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and execution of Information Risk Governance department operations, methodology, technologies, and tools
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts in alignment with direction provided by leadership and industry standards
  • Provide staff with professional and technical expertise and guidance to ensure that project objectives and scope are satisfied, including assisting staff members and contractors in the development and negotiation of recommendations and responses, evaluating the performance of the team, and providing guidance regarding department and company policies and procedures
  • Create, review, and approve pertinent work papers and communications of assessment results in compliance with department and professional standards for content and quality
  • Manage the execution and delivery of IT risk assessments including scoping assessments, creates detailed assessment procedures and related testing and reporting in accordance with professional and departmental standards
  • Lead and direct cross functional teams, large complex projects, or segment teams to achieve key business objectives and reduce IT Security Risks
  • Serve as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues
  • Successfully identify, address, manage and/or escalate risks and issues within a project to the segment lead
  • Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
  • Influence senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products and/or approaches to meet business needs and address IT security concerns
  • Lead department and/or company special projects

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or 3+ years of relevant business experience, including internal audit or IT experience
  • 3+ years of experience with IT internal control compliance and performing assessments
  • 3+ years of NIST 800-53 assessment experience
  • 1+ years of experience working with public or private cloud such as Azure, AWS or GCP


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven solid interpersonal communication both oral and written
  • Proven desire to make a positive impact with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington residents is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
