Position Overview:

Pantheon Data has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Human Factors Engineer in supporting a major surface acquisition program for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG). The selected candidate will work as part of a dynamic cross-functional team to support the design and development of Coast Guard ships and ensure Human Factors Engineering (HFE) and human systems integration (HSI) requirements are met. Duties may involve reviewing contractor deliverables, performing human engineering analyses, as well as providing support to test and verification activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners through working groups to assess ship systems at the operator machine interface and system performance levels.
  • Work together with multi-disciplinary teams to evaluate cognitive walk-throughs and usability testing, including evaluation of modeling, simulations, and mock-ups, as necessary.
  • Demonstrate experience in the design of usability studies, study moderation, data collection, and analysis planning, and report writing.
  • Evaluate contractor CDRL deliverables, which include cognitive task analyses, usability studies, such as user interface requirements, human performance studies, and use-related risk analyses, in support of system design.
  • Develop and update HSI program plans and other program documentation.
  • Support coordination and planning of HSI requirements verification and testing.
  • Support Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM) to ensure integration between the engineering disciplines and provide advice and potential technical resolutions to issues that are addressed in those meetings.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the application of HSI standards, including ABS rules relating to HFE/HSI requirements, and applicable ASTM and DoD standards.

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's of Science degree, or 10 years of relevant experience and a Master's of Science degree.
  • Must have seven years demonstrated experience supporting and providing support to major acquisition programs at DHS or DoD.
  • Must be proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Share Point and MS Outlook, as well as other software/tools provided on the Coast Guard Standard Workstation and provided for a specific position.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify HFE/HSI issues, conduct complex analyses and assessment of these issues, and provide advice to major program/project leaders.

  • Hybrid (Washington, DC)

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of United States Coast Guard highly desired
  • Experience supporting a major surface acquisition program at DHS or DoD
