Senior HSSE Manager
KBR's Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Senior HSSE Manager to support HSSE initiatives on a multi-billion-dollar project.
***This position will begin January 2024 supporting the project at KBR's downtown Houston Office then the role will mobilize to Angola in March 2024 ***
KBR is seeking a Senior HSSE Manager to be the expert in the field. This role needs a leader who is capable of providing site management and who can influence the Global Project Execution within the Integrated Solutions (IS) Business Unit and KBR Sustainable Technology Solution (STS) Division. The Senior HSSE Manager will be accountable for the on-site HSSE for a large-scale industrial project and will be crucial in ensuring the successful completion of the project by being proactive in risk identification and mitigation and by providing timely response and remediation of incidents across the project.
The Senior HSSE Manager will maintain, update, and administer the Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental Program in accordance with the requirements of KBR and the client. While ensuring compliance with all local laws, and corporate and/or other regulatory agency requirements and all requirements of the Health, Safety, Security, & Environmental Programs.
***Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident & possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport***

Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, implementing, and directing the project's Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental Program
- Assist with managing all aspects of HSSE for all contractors selected for the project.
- Establish, review, and update a comprehensive accident investigation and reporting program
- Perform trend analysis on risks and incidents, finding root causes and applying the appropriate prevention methods
- Maintain safety directives and accident reports
- Investigate accidents and conducts periodic inspections at each site
- Provide indoctrination and education for all employees (including subcontractors)
- Coordinate with the occupational specialists for support with industrial requirements
- Provide necessary assistance or advice to program/contract management on matters pertaining to health, safety, security, and environment
- Coordinate, conduct, and track safety-related training programs for employees
- Oversee and/or conducts audits
- Conduct safety and fire prevention inspections
- Ensure emergency plans are adequately publicized to minimize reaction time to emergencies
- Provide guidance and training to contract and subcontractor personnel as required by corporate and customer directions
- Provide HSSE assessments and estimates for reviews
- Coach and mentor programs leadership, driving HSE improvement
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Travel when necessary
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or HSSE related field
- 12 + years of progressive field experience on large scale projects 3 + of which should be in management
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and all other safety related federal, state, and local requirements
- Impeccable customer service skills including the ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Field experience supporting, implementing, and directing Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental systems
- Strong oral and written communication skills, specifically the ability to write technical related reports in a clear, concise format
- Must be able to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
- Previous application and knowledge of the principles, standards, and techniques of HSSE management
- Professional understanding of the pertinent elements of engineering, physical science, ergonomics, psychology, industrial hygiene, physiology, and other scientific and technological fields which contribute to the achievement of comprehensive HSSE objectives
- Ability to develop HSSE standards, regulations, practices, and procedures to eliminate or control potential hazards and/or to reduce the frequency, severity and cost of accidents and occupational illnesses
- Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position
Additional Qualifications:
- PMC experience working with China based EPC Contractors and executing work in Angola preferable
- Proven ability to inspect or survey work areas, processes, or other systems, analyze findings, and develop corrective actions
- Industrial construction background field experience
- Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Demonstrated high level of interpretive thinking and mature judgment
- Proven ability to run the HSE function on large-scale projects
- Advanced computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the advanced use of spreadsheets, electronic presentations, and databases
- Effectively demonstrate high critical thinking/reasoning ability
- Highly proficient presentation skills including public speaking
- Must have valid state Motor Vehicle Operator License if required
