Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing various HR functions, demonstrating expertise in Leave of Absence (LOA) management, conducting internal audits of personnel files and external audits for our funders/contracts, overseeing all employee relations, and supervising HR staff. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of HR policies and procedures and organization skills.
Leave of Absence Management
- Handle Workers' Compensation claims.
- Manage FMLA requests and ensure compliance.
- Administer personal leaves of absence.
- Facilitate bereavement leave requests.
- Coordinate responses to jury duty requirements.
- Oversee administration leave, unpaid and paid.
Audit Oversight and Record Keeping
- Conduct internal audits of personnel file reviews.
- POC for external audits for YFA funders and contracts.
- Perform annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks.
- Ensure compliance with Department of Children and Families/Department of Juvenile Justice (DCF/DJJ) requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of all employee changes, including terminations, new hires, position transfers, pay changes, and supervisor changes.
Employee Relations and Recruitment
- Handle Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) effectively.
- Manage corrective actions and terminations with professionalism and compliance.
- Responsible for the oversight and timely processing of terminations and transfers within two business days of occurrence.
- Assist with for recruitment activities: advertising, recruiting, and attending job fairs.
Compliance and Other Duties as Assigned
- POC for EEOC, Affirmative, and OCHA compliance, claims and reports.
- Assists the Director of Human Resources with review and updating of HR policies, to include an annual review of the employee handbook.
- Supervise Human Resources Coordinator (HRC) and Human Resources Generalist (HRG).
- Conducts other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or management.

Requirements
WHAT YOU NEED:
Education and Experience: BS/BA degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or related field preferred; Direct experience in Human Resources Department required; Supervisory experience preferred; HR certification strongly preferred; proficiency with computer network environment, HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office Suites required. Preference will be given to candidates with HR experience in a non-profit environment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 30 pounds, bend, stand and sit for extended periods of time. Travel on a local and regional basis required.
