Job description

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Senior Healthcare Data Analyst will support leadership and Healthcare Informatics teams with insights gained from analyzing company and external data to help make smarter decisions and drive better outcomes.
  • Develop and implement predictive models to forecast and optimize intervention targeting, coding accuracy, and other business outcomes.
  • Select features, build, and optimize models using various algorithms and learning techniques.
  • Utilize statistical and various learning techniques to support ACO initiatives.
  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging big data to drive business solutions.
  • Mine and analyze data (both structured and unstructured data) from company databases and external data when needed to drive quality improvement, process optimization, and business strategies.
  • Process, clean, and verify the integrity of data used for analyses.
  • Do ad-hoc analyses and present results in a clear manner.
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with other departments to drive financial and operational excellence across the organization.
  • Research industry and regulatory trends in reimbursement, value-based care initiatives, and competitive landscape analyses
  • Perform related duties like the above in scope and function as required.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum two years of prior healthcare or health plan or managed care experience is required.
  • Medicare/Medicaid experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, or another quantitative field is required.
  • 3+ years of experience handling data sets and various analytical models.
  • MBA/MA (or current candidate), preferred.
  • Minimum three to five years of financial analysis or comparable experience required.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of HCC Risk score modeling including Acute versus Chronic Disease Analytics.
  • Proficient in Inpatient, Outpatient, Skilled Nursing, and Physician analytical models.
  • Knowledge of Medicare HMO, ACO Reach, GPDC, or MSSP.
  • 3+ years of experience handling data sets and building statistical and learning models.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and languages and data visualization tools.
  • Profound understanding of Healthcare Data sources, including Electronic Health Records (EHRs), Claims Data (CCLF), and healthcare technologies (e.g., ICD10, CPT), and other sources from CMMI.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques and experience with applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
  • Experience with recommendation systems and algorithms, such as content-based filtering and collaborative filtering is preferred data analytics expertise with substantial applied experience in the managed care or healthcare industries.
  • Proficiency in SQL or other programming languages; proficiency with PowerBI dashboards
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, and well organized
  • Ability to convert complex financial, operational, and analytical issues into terms and concepts that are easily disseminated throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Great composition, grammar, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and successfully manage multiple tasks and deadlines, a self-starter.

  • A referenceable track record of substantial financial management and data analytics experience, including financial operations, strategic and financial planning, data-driven decision-making, and capital financing in a complex environment.
  • Thorough understanding of and ability to anticipate opportunities in the managed care and healthcare industries, including regulations, competitive landscape, and industry trends.
  • Excellent judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000. Individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
