Description
The Senior Grant Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial, accounting, and grant support services to meet the needs of the organization and the donor. In doing this, the position will work closely and have direct collaboration with the various accounting areas, the program staff, and the Senior Leadership Team.
Job Duties:
- Maintain a thorough understand of grant contracts to ensure timely and accurate compliance including preparing billings and reports for grants as assigned.
- Collaborate with program staff to ensure accurate and timely grant reporting.
- Assists Program staff with budget and expense responsibilities.
- Enter Accounts receivable transactions into accounting system.
- Enter payments into the accounting system.
- Work with Accounting personnel and external funders to resolve billing and collection discrepancies.
- Enter monthly general ledger journal entries as assigned.
- Monitor, follow or implement established accounting policies and procedures.
- Collaborate across departments and bridge communication and information gaps so that both program staff and key finance staff (AR, Payroll, Controller) operate with shared understanding and as one team.
- Assist with account reconciliations including reconciliation of accounts receivable to billings as assigned.
- Assist with funder and financial audit work.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience required.
- At least five (5) years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience with non-profit accounting preferred.
- Experience with State and Federal contract/grant finance and compliance preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable areas of Accounting and Finance.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Hybrid work environment (primarily in-office with remote opportunities as available).
- Company-issued laptop and cell phone.
- Must be available during core work hours as directed by leadership and attend all necessary meetings as needed.
