Description:

SENIOR GAMEPLAY PROGRAMMER

Gunfire Games is seeking a Senior gameplay programmer for our upcoming titles. The Senior gameplay programmer will work with the technical leadership to add features to our Unreal Engine 5 based codebase and fix bugs. The ideal candidate has a wealth of knowledge and experience as a gameplay programmer in the PC/console gaming industry, excellent C++ skills, a strong understanding of game design, and the ability to iterate and implement quickly without sacrificing quality. Required to be a self-starter, must be motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluent in C++
  • Minimum of 5 year in a gameplay programmer role, 1+ at a senior level
  • Strong game design sensibilities
  • Must be able to adapt smoothly and efficiently to changes in project demands
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be legally able to work in the USA without employer sponsorship

Pay range: $105,000 - $135,000. Base pay offered will be based on candidate’s skills, experience, and other professional considerations

Responsibilities:

  • Write clean, maintainable, and robust C++ code for gameplay systems and mechanics
  • Implement features and tools from a provided design using Unreal Engine 5’s blueprinting system
  • Proactively identify in-game issues and optimize gameplay systems
  • Work closely with designers, artists, and animators
  • Document proprietary tools and systems
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior programmers
