Form of workPURPOSE: Amwins Group Benefits LLC is seeking a Senior Developer role who will be involved designing, developing, and implementing software solutions as well as overseeing the work of other programmers and/or development teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and participate in full lifecycle development of software including analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, deployment, and support.
- Develop scalable software solutions.
- Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior programmers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
- Contribute to architecture and design decisions. Design and implement efficient, maintainable software solutions with emphasis on strong controls and automation. Employ best practices for designing scalable, extensible, secure applications.
- Design and develop using appropriate infrastructure and language options for the solution considering use cases and user experience. This may include n-tier .NET MVC web applications, web APIs and web services, windows services and console applications using C#, JavaScript technologies and SQL Server.
- Design and develop both internal and external facing APIs/RESTful services for Enterprise Application Integration of applications hosted on premise and in the cloud with strong emphasis on data security and access controls.
- Observing and complying with organization’s development life cycle including project, release management strategy and controls. release management strategies and configure automated deployment packages for deploying application and database changes to QA, Staging and Production environments.
- Perform unit testing and analyze application and database performance on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, resolving performance bottlenecks, and general debugging.
- Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and knowledge sharing among team members.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues. Perform debugging and optimization of existing code.
- Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, goals, and deliverables. Estimate project timelines and contribute to project planning.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and evaluate their relevance to the organization’s goals
- Make recommendations for technology adoption.
- Create and maintain technical documents and artifacts for developed software products using established and adopted toolset
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred, or equivalent through experience and proven successes.
- 6+ years of experience designing/developing web applications for products using .Net, C#, JavaScript technologies (Bootstrap, JSNode, React) and SQL Server Design database schema, developing stored procedures (T-SQL).
- Ability to complete all phases of SDLC including analysis, design, development, testing, and support utilizing Scrum/Agile methodologies.
- Ability to innovate and provide functional applications with intuitive interfaces.
- Strong and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret complex business requirements and encapsulate business logic/rules into reusable libraries.
- Strong understanding and demonstrated usage of object-oriented design concepts.
- Experience with software versioning and release management. Working proficiency with version control systems
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
