TEAM
The Online Services team delivers Arene's cloud-based offerings, from low level infrastructure to top level services as products. For external Arene consumers, we provide a unified portal as a one-stop-shop for accessing all customer-facing products. For first-party partners, we develop the protocols and tooling for integrating workflows and user experiences. For internal developers, we manage the technical infrastructure for supporting the Arene ecosystem and operations. We integrate tightly with partner teams and collaborate on cross-domain features. We embrace challenges and drive innovations from scratch to delight our customers.
You will report to the Engineering Manager, and the role is hybrid - 3 days in the office per week.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The Online Services team has two major ownership areas - Frontend and Backend. As an Frontend Engineering on the Online Services team, you will be exposed to a wide range of technologies, such as web applications, web-based micro-services, custom UI component libraries, and cloud infrastructure. You will be innovating on solutions from the ground up to realize rapidly evolving business scenarios. You will be an important contributor in our vision to evolve "transportation" into "mobility", harmonizing the best of "Silicon Valley innovation" and "Toyota craftsmanship". RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain the frontend components of our web applications, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
You will collaborate with both internal and external teams on cross-functional systems designs, including designers and backend engineers, to implement user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using modern frontend technologies and frameworks.
Conduct thorough testing of frontend components to ensure the highest level of quality and user experience.
Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate frontend components with backend systems and APIs.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in frontend development and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes.
Collaborate with the global Engineering Platform team to accelerate Arene software development.
Participate in fostering a close knit team that respects and works toward mentoring the growth of junior members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of experience in frontend development, with expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Strong proficiency in at least one modern JavaScript framework (e.g. React, Angular, Svelte).
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Strong software development in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, etc.
Experience with cloud and network technologies (ex. AWS, k8s) is a plus
Strong desire to work autonomously and collaboratively.
Basic security knowledge, such as authentication, encryption and network security protocols.
Working proficiency in English.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in mentoring junior level software engineers.
Experience in agile development practices.
