Description
Supports the design and front-end development of the Department of Veterans Affairs responsive internet and intranet websites scalable and compliant to perform on mobile devices, tablets, laptop, and desktop.
Responsibilities

• Provide support designing wireframes and interactive mockups
• Work closely with the Product team, UX designer and DevSecOps team to analyze existing system
• Design and implement accessible user interfaces with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Work with the developers to integrate the front-end code with backend services and implement in in application code
• Implement and maintain brand consistency and continuity across all page and other UI components
• Optimize web pages for maximum efficiency
• Software development lifecycle as it relates to visual interface design and development
• Perform code reviews of other developers changes
• Convert text to plain language and resize images and videos suitable for web content
• Document components through a visual library (e.g., Storybook)
• Support user interface/usability testing

• 5+ years of experience in a developing front end application code.
• Strong knowledge and experience with JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap
• 5+ years of experience working with JavaScript data visualization libraries, Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), HTML5, ColdFusion Markup Language (CFML), CSS, and CSS3
• 4+ years Developing and Designing visualization platform
• Strong knowledge and experience in Section 508 Accessibility Compliance and development
• Experience with Google Analytics, Git and GitHub, JIRA, Confluence
• Experience with Web Performance tuning
• Familiar with Agile development methodology
• Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong communications skills (both verbal & written)
• Experience with Note Pad ++ software program
• Knowledge of NoSQL, SQL

• Experience in government/Veterans Affairs
• Experience with the United States Web Design System (USWDS)
• Software requirements analysis, user experience analysis, user interface design, developing and documenting UI designs based on standards and best practices.
• Design visualization
• Experience with developing enterprise level production tools built with ReactJS, NodeJS, Angular JS.
• Familiarity with PHP
• Libraries including but not limited to: D3, C3, Google Charts, Raw, Plotly.js
• Experience with geospatial visualizations

• Bachelor's Degree in any IT related field
