Your Job Responsibilities:
As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design of fire suppression systems, fire detection and alarm systems for our complex and dynamic facilities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Applying standard techniques and procedures in designing Fire Protection systems.
- Conducting preliminary voltage drop calculation and battery calculation.
- Performing hydraulic analysis and preparing drawings and specifications.
- Providing direction to BIM/Design staff for producing permit documents in 3 Dimensions using AutoCAD or Revit.
- Maintaining knowledge of National Fire Protection Association Standards, Guidelines, and Codes.
- Acquiring and updating knowledge of local codes in multiple jurisdictions across the United States.
Your Requirements and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications and experience:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Fire Protection Engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university.
- 2-4 years of experience as a consulting engineer preferred.
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam or a willingness to pass the exam within the first 60 days of employment.
- Availability for occasional travel.
- Ability to pass background checks, security screenings, or drug testing as required by clients and/or Federal contracts.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Salary and Compensation:
The salary for this position will range from $70,000 to $90,000 and will be determined based on various factors, including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
