Description

Support the CFO and Director of Finance in carrying out the responsibilities of the finance department, ensuring that financial records are maintained accurately and consistently with accounting standards for non-profit organizations.  Responsibilities include preparation of budget and cash flow, development and reporting of affiliate management metrics, Financial Planning & Analysis, and support for funder and compliance reporting.

 

Essential Functions

           Maintain and enhance the monthly cash flow model to lead affiliate Financial Planning and analysis efforts.

           Serve as NetSuite power user and trainer to optimize efficiency in finance team workflows. 

           Provide ongoing support in NetSuite system implementation and administration.

           Collaborate with department heads to prepare operating budgets and cash flow projections.

           Prepare financial reports for grant, bank, and debt compliance reporting.

           Utilize strong working knowledge of GAAP and Not for Profit accounting to prepare monthly financial reports and develop ad hoc management reports.

           Support annual audit and 990 tax filing efforts.

           Record home sale entries and prepare project reports.

           Prepare accounting entries as required and/or directed by the Director of Finance.

           Assist with monthly and year end close process.

           Other duties as assigned.

 

Pay

  1. For the selected candidate who meets the minimum requirements for the role and has 0-2 years of direct, relevant experience serving in this role and/or at this level, pay for this position is $76,253 to $80,000 yearly, with the potential to go to $85,779 with time and demonstrated success in the role. 
  2. For the selected candidate who exceeds the minimum requirements for the role and has 2-4 years of direct, relevant experience serving in this type of role and/or at this level, pay for this position is $85,779 to $88,000 yearly, with the potential to go to $95,306 with time and demonstrated success in the role.
  3. For the selected candidate who exceeds the minimum requirements for the role and has 4-7 years of direct, relevant experience serving in this type of role and/or at this level, pay for this position is $95,306 to $100,000 yearly, with the potential to go to $104,853 with time and demonstrated success in the role.

Qualifications

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Minimum Education, Experience and Skills

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or Finance. Related education and experience may substitute for degree requirements. Minimum 7-10 years accounting and/or finance experience. Experience with construction accounting highly desired with non-profit accounting a plus.

  • Strong working knowledge of financial principles and best practices in construction accounting.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivots, lookups, index and match, charts, dashboards) and NetSuite expertise are essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead cross-functional teams in a dynamic work environment.
  • Energetic, self-motivated team player, able to see the big picture and maintain attention to detail.
  • Proven organizational skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while working on diverse projects under pressure.
  • Superior analytical, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Flexibility, sense of humor, grace under pressure a must.

 

Language Skills:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees.

Math Skills:  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, averages/medians, and percentages/percentiles.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability:  Define problems, collect, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Distinguish between relevant and irrelevant information to make logical decisions. Provide solutions to individual and organizational problems.

Computer Skills: Proficiency with computer usage, especially Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. NetSuite expertise required.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate consisting of usual business office sounds including but not limited to computers, printers, telephones, and light foot traffic.
