Salary: $80,000

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The SeniorFinancial Planner will assist in fulfilling the company’s mission with a focus on fostering professional relationships with clients and peers. This person is responsible for representing the company in a positive, professional manner while directly supporting Wealth Advisors in servicing existing and prospective clients of the firm. Team members will act as resources and mentors as skills are developed. Specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:

 

Provide Financial Planning Support (40%)

  • Acquire Client Information: Obtain all required information relative to net worth, assets and liabilities, and cash flows from Wealth Advisors or directly from clients and prospective clients.
  • Prepare Financial Plans: Use financial planning software to input information where appropriate and work with Wealth Advisory team members to create detailed financial plans for clients and prospective clients.
  • Generate Financial Data: Produce spreadsheets, reports, and market research to support financial plan. Identify and create financial analyses for clients, including estate planning, education funding, tax planning, stock options, risk management needs, cash flow & retirement analyses.
  • Administer Planning Software: Serve as the direct point of contact for software partners. Manage subscriptions, become a power user, and vet new tools to ensure HoyleCohen is utilizing the best in class for its clients. 

 

Assist Wealth Advisory Teams in Service Delivery (30%)

  • Participate in and Prepare for Client Meetings: Prepare planning and investment presentation materials prior to client meetings. Attend meetings with Wealth Advisors to learn about the clients, take notes on the discussion and potential follow up items, and contribute to the client meeting experience overall.
  • Coordinate Follow Up: Proactively manage and ensure client needs are addressed promptly, thoroughly, and efficiently. Update and maintain client records. Guide clients through personal financial analysis, provide appropriate and sound financial advice, answer questions, and resolve problems.

 

Develop Business (10%)

  • Create Content: Contribute to the catalog of Advisor-generated content via researching planning and investment topics to help write articles, film videos, or create presentations on behalf of the firm for various distribution channels.
  • Build Network: Exhibit understanding of HoyleCohen’s business development goals, services, and ideal client profiles, and elevate visibility by joining outside organizations and improving leadership profile.

 

Expand Working Knowledge & Enhance Professional Practice (10%)

  • Actively Engage in Professional Development: Stay abreast of new market trends, participate in professional development opportunities, including education and trainings, pursue personal development goals, and support team goals.
  • Educate Colleagues and Peers: Ensure Advisory Team members and other staff remain up-to-date on important changes in the financial planning landscape.

 

Contribute to Organizational Development & Culture (10%)

  • Communicate Effectively: Provide clear communication, good listening skills, teamwork, and positive involvement in company events and initiatives. Participate and run internal Advisory meetings.

MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree, Business, Finance, or Economics preferred
  • 2+ years of Financial Planning experience
  • CFP® certification (Certified Financial Planner) or actively pursuing
  • Knowledge of investment and financial planning strategies
  • Strong financial and math analytical skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, including written, verbal, and listening skills
  • Passion for exceptional client service
  • Adherence to rules/regulations as required by the firm and regulatory agencies

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to both Advisor and client requests expediently without sacrificing quality
  • Proficiency with Salesforce CRM

SPECIFIC PHYSICAL & COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, consider alternative and diverse perspectives, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and work effectively and efficiently with others in a positive manner. This position requires the ability to sustain attention, comprehend and follow direction, complete assigned tasks without supervision, exercise independent judgment and make decisions, and adapt well in the face of shifting priorities and workplace stressors.

 

This position requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, use of hands and fingers and reaching with hands and arms. This position requires occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Incumbent is required to occasionally lift and carry up to 10 pounds. This position requires good close, distance, and color vision.
