Position - Senior Financial Analyst/Operations Analyst (“Financial Analyst”)
Katz Jewish Community Center, Cherry Hill New Jersey
Summary:
The Katz Jewish Community Center (“JCC”) has an annual budget of $17 million and is a wholly owned agency of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey (“JFED”).
The JCC Financial Analyst will work closely with the JCC Executive Director in analyzing the financial results, providing suggestions for financial improvement and developing the budget and the projections.
The Financial Analyst will work collaboratively with the JCC Controller in compiling the monthly reports to be shared with the organization. The Financial Analyst will work with the JCC departmental managers monthly to help them understand their operating results and provide feedback on financially impactful strategies.
The Financial Analyst will partner with the JCC Executive Director, JCC senior leadership, JCC Controller, JFED CFO and JFED Controller to enhance and better integrate financial decision-making to improve the overall JCC business operations.
The Financial Analyst will report to the Executive Director of the JCC while working closely and collaboratively with the JFED CFO.
Specific Responsibilities
Plays a key role in the annual budget process, including responsibility for the JCC budgets.
- Work closely on financial and operations matters with other members of the Finance & Accounting departments as well as the operating departments.
- Provide support in the areas of financial reporting and ongoing budget variance review and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain expertise in the use of reporting tools across the businesses including MIP/Sage Intacct, Excel and others as needed.
- Support the development of financial projections.
- Identify opportunities for performance improvement across the organization.
- Comfortable sharing and presenting financial information and recommendations.
- Support the development of training materials for the annual budget and forecasting process.
- Completes month end closely duties.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills and Education:
- Strong expertise in working with Microsoft Excel, nonprofit accounting software and PowerPoint.
- Expertise in MS Power Query, Power Pivot or Macros a plus
- Experience with the Sage Intacct General Ledger System a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Financial modeling experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and comfortably working in a team environment.
- Must be able to manage and communicate multiple projects at the same time.
- Must be flexible.
- Show effective judgment and discretion and can handle confidential financial matters.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business; strongly preferred and minimum of 4 years in a financial analytical role
