JOB SUMMARY

An organized and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst (Multifamily), who will support our Acquisitions team in sourcing and evaluating various real estate development projects. This person will be responsible for performing complex financial, quantitative, and qualitative analyses, coordinating pre-development and investment initiatives, and supporting transactions from inception to close. The Senior Financial Analyst is a total modeling “rock star” with deep knowledge and a love of real estate and finance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and institutional grade underwriting work product, build and run financial models, investor return analysis, due diligence, and other analyses to assist with the timely evaluation of investments in new development projects with minimal oversight.
  • Role includes creating and performing extensive cash flow modeling, including scenario and sensitivity analyses; understanding principles of sources and uses, discounting methodologies, deal structuring, promoted and carried interests, and other financing mechanisms.
  • Provide ad hoc analytical support for evaluating potential acquisitions.
  • Assist with asset management for existing asset acquisition targets basic financial reporting for operating assets prior to demolition and disposition of asset activities for the portfolio.
  • Assist in securing financing with a broad understanding of capital markets for various asset classes.
  • Analyze various capital structures to determine the best course of action using sound logic and judgement of the potential outcomes.
  • Provide insight on financial performance, including analysis of variance to prior periods, forecasts, or budgets.
  • Assist in preparing internal and external presentation materials and documents (e.g., investment committee presentations, LOIs, lender materials, etc.)

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • A strong working knowledge of real estate terminology across all the asset classes, understanding of asset characteristics, strong command of market analysis.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical abilities, exceptional work ethic and commitment to excellence
  • Ability to communicate ideas (written and verbally) clearly and concisely
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly with little supervision and instruction, but also work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Desire to work as part of a small, highly entrepreneurial team

Education and Experience:

  • 3 - 5 years of financial analysis of real estate-based financial models (preferably for ground-Up development).
  • A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

COMPENSATION

  • Competitive Salary range of $80,000 - $85,000 depending on experience
