Job description
As Senior Financial Analyst, Huntsville and Texas, you will support two Aerospace plant sites and be a critical member of the plant leadership teams, contributing to and leading performance improvement initiatives at the facilities. Through detailed and insightful analytics, you will help to identify areas of focus for productivity and cost improvement and will work cross functionally to ensure alignment, engagement and progress toward clearly defined project goals and deliverables.
You will report to the Operations Accounting Manager, Aerospace. You will be onsite five days a week at the Huntsville, Alabama manufacturing plant with periodic travel to the Grand Prairie, Texas, plant location. You will supervise the Operations Analyst assisting with the two plant locations.
Key Responsibilities
• Participate in plant meetings to provide insight on results, collect information and challenge performance.
• Support and/ or lead plant initiatives to control costs of production.
• Support the generation, analysis and explain the drivers for local and business unit KPIs.
• Work with the Operations Analyst to provide variance analysis and full understanding of plant level results.
• Lead plant wide budget process coordinating all departments and promoting productivity and cost savings initiatives and targets.
• Partner with the Operations Analyst in developing short- and long-term reliable estimates of the level of expense to be incurred by the plant related to expected volumes.
• Complete month end closing activities such as calculation or approval of journal entries, review of account balances and explanation and presentation of results to business unit finance.
• Work with the plant leadership team to develop and execute a strategic roadmap for capital spending; ensure most critical projects are completed on time, on budget and are embedded in plans.
• Conduct post-completion analysis of critical investments (capital or otherwise) to ensure main deliverables - both financial and operational - are met.
• Work with demand and supply teams to ensure visibility and optimize inventory health in raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Ensure inventory accuracy and improve around excess and obsolete inventory and scrap.
• Work with the Operations Analyst to ensure that product costing reflects plant operations at a product level.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field with 6 or more years of experience.
• Prior cost accounting or manufacturing financial support experience required.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
• Travel 4-6 times per year to the Grand Prairie, Texas, and Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, locations.
