Role reports to: Senior Finance Director - Innovation

Location: Skillman, NJ

Travel %: 10%

Pay: $113,000-195,500 (if compliant with country laws)

 

What you will do 

The Senior Finance ManagerGlobal Self Care partners with the Global Segment Lead and supports the Senior Finance Director Innovation & Segment Performance. This role has close responsibility in the Innovation process for Self Care, providing robust and independent financial analysis on Innovation projects, including co-creating Financial analysis for global Innovation projects and business cases, including control of R&D global budgets aiming for ROI maximization as well as post- implementation analysis.

The Senior Finance ManagerGlobal Self Care partners with the Global Self Care R&D lead to provide budget control and strategic support on R&D funds. The Senior Finance Manager partners with Global FP&A and IR teams and individuals at all levels of the Organization (Global Segment Lead, Regional Segment Groups, Regional FP&A, Global FP&A, Investor Relations) to ensure the appropriate understanding of In-Year Financial performance of Self Care that allows for strong business council and accurate reporting throughout the organization and the IR group. He/she is a key player in the 3YOP for the segment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial leadership to Innovation Forum:
    • Own and Lead Innovation Results in-year NPI NTS Reporting & Analysis
    • Financial counsel and leadership for the innovation process where not all projects will be commercially or financially viable. This is a critical role in supporting a robust innovation prioritization process
    • Be an active player in the decision process of the Portfolio decision process based on std portfolio metrics
    • Financial Guidance in the Innovation Efficiency,  Sufficiency Targets (NTSLC & GP), Financial Hurdles
  • Business Cases - Innovation Financial & Business Analysis:
    • Deep engagement on Global Innovation projects ensuring strong financial analysis, in partnership with commercial groups
    • Responsible for ensuring that all information is complete, accurate and that all assumptions are vigorously challenged (Capex, Volume, COGS, GP, Price sensitivity, cannibalization)
    • Evaluate financial impact to the business from Sales, MNI, Cashflow perspective - Ensure Financial Hurdles are met and robust financial information is provided in stage gate progress of projects
    • Support the developing of a Business recommendation from a financial perspective based on opportunity/risk factors. Highlighting areas to improve (e.g. cost of goods) and potential issues. Incorrect assumptions / decisions can cost Kenvue Millions
    • Perform post implementation analysis on key projects providing a thorough assessment, recommendations and learnings
  • Franchise Global Financial Performance  - In year:
    • Provide financial decision support to the Segment Organization and drive actions for improvement on topline, GP, Brand Contribution
    • Establish appropriate understanding and awareness of financial performance indicators at Franchise (Brand/Need State, BMC) and act upon the key drivers, alert the Segment Leadership of implications and recommend corrective actions
    • Review of the monthly and quarterly financials (NTS and full P&L) accounts with commentary for the MTD, QTD & YTD financial results against prior year & plan / forecast. Follow up of any trends or variances that could impact the full year plan / forecast. Recommend solutions to impact negative trends and track implementation
    • Responsibility on providing Financial perspective that feeds Segment performance in External Reports. Investor relations and Controllership Reports
  • Budget Control R&D and Franchise Marketing:
    • Track budget performance to deliver financial targets on total R&D and Marketing budgets, ensuring strong controls and financial principles
    • Control OOP and BME tying budget execution managed by the Self Care Growth organization
  • Other Duties:
    • Co-responsibility on the Segment 3YOP and establishment of long term Innovations targets

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree is required
  • 7 years of experience in in Finance or Accounting
  • Must be able to manage business performance evaluations including project analysis, ensuring correct financial discipline to make decisions & improve performance and can challenge the business on outputs of evaluation
  • Strong ability to influence others though prepared data & analysis, across functions to ensure robust business decisions
  • Strong ability to develop effective business relationships to ensure commercial & financial objectives are aligned
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others to ensure balanced and aligned commercial business decisions which take into account short and long term considerations
  • Strong ability to promote financial awareness across functions
  • Strong understanding how finance decisions impact other functions
  • Proven success by managing finance projects, developing a business case & relevant success criteria for delivery and communicate progress, issues & risks to project team
  • Strong ability to apply a financial basis for informed decision making, balances short & long-term interests of the Company while assessing risks
  • Strong ability to identify and action opportunities & improvements in Finance Control systems
  • Strong ability to act compliantly and in line with company policies
  • This position requires up to 10% domestic travel 

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA, CMA, CGMA, CPA are preferred
  • CPG or FMCG Industry experience

  • Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $113,000 to $195,500.  This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
