Responsibilities
Act as a strategic thought partner, collaborating with senior leaders to set business intelligence priorities between Finance and a complex Division or multiple staff functions. Provides financial planning guidance and expert consultation in areas related to future state financial performance including top to bottom P & L with comparisons to budget and forecasts on an operational basis. Synthesizes regional trends, opportunities, risks and supports leadership options for business action and strategic decision making.1. Drives strategy for end-to-end planning, budgeting, and forecasting process across a division and/or staff function, including all inputs and drivers within the planning tool2. Develops the annual plan, associated budgets, and forecasts for a division/staff function, supported by an FP&A analyst pool3. Oversees the financial performance of a division/staff function to support Head of FP&A's strategic priorities including strategic projects and initiatives impacting a division or staff functions and/or corporate initiatives.4. Owns monthly management reporting and analysis process for a division or multiple staff functions5. Proactively provides transparent and frequent financial updates and actionable insights for assigned division/staff function in a timely manner to support informed business decisions6. Ensures business leaders understand key performance based financing (PBF) assumptions and drivers7. Engages FP&A Head to ensure timely and accurate delivery of analysis and insights8. Builds business cases, including what-if analyses9. Supports ad hoc analysis for both Head of FP&A and ExCo10. Engages key internal stakeholders, including other Finance Business Partners and division/staff functions counterparts, to keep abreast of changes in market landscape and advise on potential implications to the business
Qualifications
4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Accounting and professional certification e.g. CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent11-15 years of finance experience at an insurance company or strategy and/or consulting for this industry; Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and forecasting or related finance fieldStrong consultant skillsExcellent strategic and execution capabilitiesGood judgement and decisivenessBroad and deep knowledge of finance, business, and regulatory environmentEffective influencing and communication skillsAbility to develop FP&A analysts to enable growth toward FBP roleStrong accounting / finance skillsAbility to think and act independentlyStrong team leadership skills and results orientationAbility to lead a team and motivate others in a deadline driven environment and foster acceptance of changeProficiency with financial systems and standard software applicationsThe final salary offer will vary based on individual education, skills, and experience.
