Position Profile:
DVI is seeking to hire a “Senior Level” Farm Commodity Trader/Consultant relationship manager. This position will play a key role in the company with shared management responsibilities across the senior trading staff. This is a critical hire with opportunities to transition into management and company ownership for the right candidate.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
- Interact with clients while upholding a professional image.
- Assist clients in establishing cost of production risk profiles using DVI proprietary software.
- Prepare a formal market plan to discuss with client and use it to implement decisions.
- Trade in the feed, grain, and milk markets using cash contracts and hedge related activity.
- Network with client’s banker, nutritionist, financial managers, and other consultants as part of an overall team to support individual client success.
- Function independently and as a team player to develop client recommendations, analyze markets, and interact with support staff.
Required Experience/Educational Needs:
- A degree in Ag Economics or Ag Business.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in commodity trading with cash contracts, futures, and options in the feed, grain, or milk markets.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Able to communicate professionally with producers and industry relationships.
- Detail focused, with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Solid understanding of business financial statements and analytical skills.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Knowledge of farm programs and crop insurance products.
- Service oriented with a passion to help agricultural businesses succeed.
- Entrepreneurial sales and business development skills.
Compensation
Salary expectations are dependent on individuals’ ability to successfully build and maintain client relationships. This position will receive a base salary with a highly competitive commissioned-based incentive package. Candidates that meet revenue and qualification criteria will be offered ownership opportunities to benefit from corporate profits.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
