Job Description
The Senior Facilities Engineering Manager’s responsibility is to serve in an expert role to oversee all aspects of the facilities operations with a focus on quality, health, and safety. The individual is responsible for all aspects of the organization's physical infrastructure, managing maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations including recommendations to senior management to prioritize and improve the overall working function of every aspect of the plant. Monitors daily operations of all systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, waste management, building automation system, roofing, fire protection, and other structural and civil engineering requirements to ensure reliability. Establish and implement design specs and standards for the facility. Track orders for quality, adherence to service standards and budgeted guidelines. Develop and implement preventative plans, policies, and procedures focusing on minimizing adverse effects to operation while optimizing the functioning of building grounds and associated equipment.
The Senior Facilities Engineering Manager must be a compelling leader who will create a culture of inclusivity across multiple departments. Directs training of managers, leads and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations.
Managerial Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, oversee, and administer all work assigned to the maintenance department, be it equipment breakdowns, equipment repairs, or necessary calibrations.
- Effectively manage and supervise all maintenance personnel assigned to the department. Giving direction to staff members and aiding them in repairs, installations, or calibrations of production equipment and facilities equipment.
- Train, develop and educate maintenance staff to improve technical ability. Coach and guide staff to understand the operation and improve performance.
- Assisting the development and implementation of a company culture aligned with company visions and mission statement.
- Oversees vendors and contractors ensuring timely completion of work, quality standard, and alignment to company culture and values.
Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and determine the area of improvement.
- Design, create and fabricate upgrades to new equipment or the improvement of existing equipment.
- Manage the facilities and grounds within standard company EHS policies.
- Ensure manufacturing process, equipment and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations.
- Project Engineering, Process Engineering as required.
- Develop and implement an equipment program through collaboration with operations including a complete inventory, processes and procedures, and a robust preventive maintenance program to maximize operational efficiencies.
- Develop department KPIs
Knowledge/Education/Training/Licenses/Certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering required.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and PLC Programming to include troubleshooting and repair is required.
- At least 10 + years of proven experience in a Plant or Production setting.
- Solid background in mechanical/electrical repair of production process equipment.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hands-on managerial role leading and developing teams,
- A solid background in Industrial/Commercial electrical power distribution systems.
- Experienced in High Voltage Electricals
- Experienced in heavy machinery maintenance
- Lean Manufacturing preferred
Physical & Mental Demands:
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders and perform work at the height of 25 to 30 feet.
Ability to plan, organize, and follow through with projects and maintenance work.
Work Equipment, Tools, & Safety Equipment:
Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
Ability to assist in repair of equipment.
Ability to use hand tools to complete repairs.
Wearing safety glasses, ear plugs and safety shoes.
Complying with all EHS and company rules and regulations
