Senior Fabricator 

SENIOR FABRICATOR – Chesterfield, MO

PURPOSE:

Strong team player able to demonstrate critical problem-solving skills and display masterful craftsmanship in all fabrication aspects. Collaborating with engineers and designers to quickly produce proprietary research equipment that drives efficiencies, new processes, and accurate data collection.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Fabricator, are to:

• Understand and perform all welding processes to fabricate research equipment, including but not limited to MIG and TIG welding;
• Determine appropriate welding process based on fabrication type;
• Set up equipment properly according to the function and application;
• Understand properties of various types of steel and other welding metals (including but not limited to hardness; brittleness; elongation; tensile, etc.) and determine the best fabrication application to complete project builds;
• Perform advanced-level fabrication, including but not limited to: passivation, purging (sanitary pipe/tube welding), straightening, waterjet, and CNC press brake operations;
• Complete layout from prints and drawings; in absence of prints or patterns, can create prints or patterns;
• Handle all internal inquiries in a prompt and friendly manner;
• Work within and promote corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or 5 years equivalent technical experience in fabrication;
• Extensive experience with MIG, TIG, and Stick processes;
• Proficiency or certification as a welder/fabricator;
• 5 years welding and industry-specific machine work experience.
• Advanced-level proficiency in all welding and fabrication processes, specifically related to Stainless steel and various food and medical grade metals;
• Ability to read blueprints;
• Ability to fabricate without prints;
• Ability to attain certification in all welding processes;
• Strong understanding of the metric and imperial system;
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office;
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical problems;
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work well as a team member and one on one with other skilled crafts, researchers, and engineers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 years equivalent technical experience in fabrication Food or medical industry;
• Experience and knowledge of Solid Works software;
• AWS certification.
