- Leads dispatching team in the absence of managers to include assigning areas and responsibilities.
- Provides quality customer service to customers by providing one-on-one attention in dispatching housekeeping services.
- Determines, explains and develops dispatcher logic and Housekeeper activities. Performs housekeeping duties when necessary.
- Directs the activity of the housekeeping employees, ensuring timely completion of tasks. Monitors procedures related to availability and completion task and follows up on issues related to service and operations.
- Continuously monitors response times and alerts supervisor if response times are longer than departmental standards.
- Works independently with computers and various software programs.
- Manage incoming and outgoing communications related to support services.
- Ensures requests have been addressed in an efficient, timely manner according to current departmental standards, priorities and patient appointments.
- Serves as a liaison between Housekeeping and other departments.
- Assigns, collects and distributes devices and keys. Monitors daily sign-in/out procedures.
- Develops and promotes positive customer service relationships with patients, patient family members, visitors and staff. Ensures accurate, timely completion of all requests. Ensures maximum staff productivity.
- Resolves problems related to patient, visitor, staff or employee complaints. Recommends solutions for ongoing or recurring issues
- Responsible for processing all scrub requests campus wide (OUHSC, OUMC, OCH, OUP, Surgery Center), this includes creating/updating cards, sizing, department number, pin number and/or badge information.
- Responsible for tracking and documenting all incoming requests and ensuring that a resolution is documented.
- Responsible for monitoring employees accessing secured areas for cleaning duties.
- Responsible for ensuring that supplies are delivered upon request.
- Responsible for throughput efficiency and communicating with House Supervisor on priority discharge needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- At least three (3) years of dispatching experience.
Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required:
- None
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Understands and applies knowledge of basic housekeeping concepts, infection control practices and proper body mechanics.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations
- Ability to multi-tasks and establish priorities
- Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
- Exhibits initiative, responsibility, and flexibility
