The club is owned and governed by a membership of 22,000 and operated by staff in a beautiful downtown clubhouse with 600,000 square feet of athletic and social spaces. As the Senior Events Manager at MAC, you'll be at the helm of our Events, Catering, and Athletic Events Programs, driving innovation, excellence, and unparalleled service. Collaborating closely with our dynamic team, you'll set the stage for unforgettable moments that define the MAC experience.
Position Summary:
The Senior Events Manager role involves crafting innovative programming, establishing budgets, and fostering seamless collaboration with club members and staff. Joining our leadership team, you will contribute to the club's overarching objectives while ensuring excellence in member experiences and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Leadership:
  • Develop and execute an annual action plan aligned with our culinary and events objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Food & Beverage to maintain cohesive leadership in event management.
  • Establish and enforce departmental procedures in accordance with club policies, ensuring operational excellence.
  • Drive initiatives for continuous improvement, adapting policies and programs to enhance member satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Event Planning and Administration:
  • Innovate and implement engaging activities to captivate our members' interests.
  • Analyze attendance, satisfaction, and trends, leveraging insights to enhance future events.
  • Coordinate logistics for special functions and member activities, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Foster collaboration with the Food & Beverage department to elevate event experiences.
  • Fiscal Management:
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process, providing insights and recommendations for the Events department.
  • Monitor financial performance, making informed adjustments to optimize revenue and control expenses.
  • Proactively identify and communicate significant budget variances to relevant stakeholders.
  • Committee Support:
  • Actively participate in Member Events Committee meetings, offering support and expertise to achieve committee objectives.
  • Facilitate training and orientation for committee members, ensuring alignment with club goals and standards.
  • Member Relations:
  • Cultivate a positive club culture, delivering exceptional member experiences through tailored programs.
  • Address member inquiries and feedback promptly and professionally, driving continuous improvement in event offerings.
  • Ensure consistent application of reservation policies to uphold fairness and transparency.
  • Communications:
  • Oversee pre-event promotions across various channels, ensuring alignment with club branding and standards.
  • Collaborate with the Communications department to uphold communication standards and consistency.
  • Maintain accurate event information on the club's website to facilitate member engagement.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Directly manage and coordinate the activities of event coordinators and managers.
  • Lead personnel management processes, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience, preferably in event management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event planning software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Job Conditions:

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
