Senior Environmental Designer

Reports To: Director of Creative Production

Status: Full-Time

Location: St. Louis, MO

Summary:

Heritage is seeking a Senior Environmental Designer to perform any one or more of the following functions: Drive the creative development of immersive brand experiences, displays and exhibits to help clients achieve their branded vision by designing projects from a design-build environment. The successful candidate will work with senior management, key account team member and client partners.

Essential Job Duties:

• Design Concepts
  • You will often work independently or alongside the SVP Brand Strategy and Account Team Members to develop design concepts and directions for live experiences, spatial plans, campaigns across multiple projects. This will require them to make conceptual and stylistic decisions. Creating written treatments, layouts, mockups and renderings will be required to illustrate their concepts to the client, other members of the team or management.
• Manage Projects
  • You will be the design lead on multiple large scale design projects at one time with tight deadlines. This will include working with geographically dispersed teams, creating designs, providing design recommendations, ensuring all deadlines are met, confirming clients are satisfied with the results and troubleshooting any issues that may arise during the duration of the project. You also may act as quality control for your work by reviewing and editing the team?s final products before distribution of any materials occur.
• Incorporate ideas and make revisions in response to the feedback and criticisms of clients and team members in a business-like, open-minded manner. Possess the presence and experience to interface at the executive level, developing and maintaining client relationships. Design and detail show management and exhibit projects for trade shows and events
• Provide design expertise to create branded environments and experiences
• Responsible for adhering to a design schedule
• Manage projects from start to finish
• Working with project staff, maintain projects within budget and deadline time frame
• Responsible for staying current with design trends and technologies in the industry
• Work on multiple projects, meeting deadlines and holding a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Provide quality control and ensure compliance to company standards
• Follow all standard procedures in file format and design development
• Prepare complete and accurate preliminary, construction and detail schematic drawings from 3D concepts and designs
• Develop and produce floor plans of trade shows and events
• Maintain the Heritage Way - treat all internal and external customers with courtesy and respect, with a focus on customer service above all other items
• Attend and participate in project meetings

Job Requirements:

• Undergraduate or graduate degrees in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Exhibit Design, Industrial Design, and/or Environmental Design
• 5+ years of experience in a creative agency, general service contractor, corporate marketing environment, or architectural design firm in applicable areas of space design such as retail, hospitality, exhibit, and urban design.
• Ability to follow a user-centered methodological approach to design projects
• Highly organized
• Ability to discover and articulate design objectives and apply design solutions to the project at hand
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Google Docs, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion, 3ds Max, PowerPoint, Microsoft 365
• Ability to understand space planning and have the skill to visualize and communicate creative concepts verbally
• Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
• Strong ability to multitask
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work well with groups
• Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and meet deadlines
• Ability to adjust designs based on constructive feedback from both internal and external clients
• Bachelor?s degree in Architecture, Exhibit Design, Industrial Design or similar design field preferred
• Become familiar with company standards in both the Modular Systems Shop and Print shop with on-site continuous training.
• Ensure team compliance with Heritage H Hour Customer Service Program for all internal and client communications and expectations.

Work Environment:

Frequent periods of sitting standing and walking. Periodic bending and stooping, kneeling squatting and crouching, crawling, twisting and carrying, pushing and lifting weight amounts of 25lbs or less. Regular and frequent repetitive hand motion.
