Job Description

As a Senior Engineer Technology in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), youll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.

In this role youll be responsible for:

• Investigate new and emerging technologies, design and implement prototypes for early / usability testing and participate in technology forums and collaborations.
• Produces and maintains required technical documentation associated with work product.
• Contribute innovative and feasible ideas and solutions by leveraging new technologies and tools.
• Develop and maintain re-usable components that accelerate application development and reduce complexity.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive integration strategy aligned to overall IT strategy.
• Evaluating Fit for purpose for Build vs. Buy decisions for applications for new business demand and/or platform affinity.
• Proposing application optimization for externally developed applications
• Developing technology debt management practices for internally developed applications.
• Evaluating emerging application development standards, technologies, and practices to integrate into internal development standards and practices.
• Escalation points for intractable engineering problems encountered by application development teams.

Tools and skills you will use in this role:

• .NET, Java, Python, or related technical stacks with understanding of software lifecycle.
• Design of CI/CD pipeline, automated integration deployments, etc.
• SDLC process for the web development delivery including the deployment of code.
• Best practices and understanding of integration patterns and practices.
• Clear interpersonal communication, proofreading, editing, and formatting skills.

Qualifications

Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:

Required

• Bachelors degree with 6+, Master's with 5+, or PhD with 0+years of solid, diverse work experience
• Hands on knowledge of application development experience in both Cloud and OnPrem implementations.
• Proficiency to work at the highest level of all phases of application program/system design and implementation.
