About This Opportunity
We are seeking a SeniorIndustrial Energy Efficiency Outreach Engineer
The Senior Industrial Energy Efficiency Outreach Engineer is the customer facing primary point of contact for Cascade Energy's Industrial Systems Optimization Program (ISOP) being offered to PG&E's food processing, manufacturing, and warehousing customers. ISOP provides generous incentives, technical support, and financing options to support PG&E's gas and electrical energy savings acquisition goals. This person is the facilitator between the customer, contractor or vendor, Technical Advisors, Account Managers and PG&E, with a focus on identifying viable energy projects and then matching them with the appropriate program resource. ISOP leverages all available savings platforms including custom, deemed, normalized metered energy consumption, and on-bill financing.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Participate on a team that helps industrial facilities around the US save energy and operate more efficiently.
  • Building relationships, connecting people to opportunities, and being an advocate for new and better energy solutions

This full-time exempt position is located in or near Pleasanton, Fresno, or Sacramento, CA. You must reside in or near one of these cities in order to be near our client base.
This position requires approximately 20% travel, most of which is local. Travel could be a half day trip to a site or to meet with a vendor, a full day to multiple sites, or an occasional overnight to a more distant area.
Qualifications
Applicants for this role are required to have:
  • Bachelor's Degree, in Engineering preferred, or another related field of study, or a combination of education and relative work experience.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of an organization with comfort and ease, from plant managers to equipment operators.
  • A solid understanding of general industrial technologies (i.e., what systems use energy, how they use energy, what methods exist for reducing energy use)
  • Experience in technical sales, industrial environments, project management, or energy efficiency
  • An understanding of, or experience in, food processing, manufacturing, and warehousing industries. This includes technical, process, and energy expertise with variable frequency drives, refrigeration, compressed air, pumps, fans, industrial controls, lighting, and electrical distribution, boilers, evaporators, and steam systems.
  • Familiarity with California energy efficiency policy and CPUC guidelines for energy efficiency implementation.
  • Project management abilities, organizational skills, and have a high level of self-initiative.
  • A good grasp of project financial metrics and how energy projects are "sold" to upper management.
  • Proficiency with MS Office

The successful candidate will also demonstrate the following characteristics and/or skills:
  • Experience with industrial gas and steam systems efficiency opportunities
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to move from the "big picture" to smaller details quickly and easily.
  • Aptitude for presenting to groups and facilitating effective discussions that encourage sharing of ideas.
  • Ability to quickly see opportunity and evaluate the quality of the energy efficiency opportunity (size and cost).
  • Implementation of continuous improvement (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO 50001, etc.) is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
Our total rewards include competitive pay and excellent benefits. These include health (90% paid for team member, 70% paid for dependents on HDHP plans and 85% paid for team member, 65% paid for dependents on PPO plans), vision, FSA or HSA options with an employer contribution, life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, paid parental leave, 401k retirement plan with a guaranteed 3% contribution, Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP), annual cash performance bonus, paid vacation, sick time, and an inclusive, flexible paid holiday policy. New for 2024 - we are excited to add an additional wellbeing contribution of $500 for HSA, FSA, or LSA (Lifestyle Spending Account).
The base salary range for this position in California is $105,500 - $155,980 However, final salary offered may vary depending on non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experiences, and geographical location.
