SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Performs intensive and diversified technical work such as the design, manufacture and operation of structures, machines and systems while completing projects in broad areas of assignment.
Job Duties:
- Design Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS) sensors, Assemblies, Tools, and Test systems.
- Perform work to integrate MEMS sensors in innovate and market leading ways, using knowledge of MEMS sensor elements, dimensions, structure, catalog of MEMS, DIE attach issues and options.
- Perform complex multi-layer PCB Layout integrating MEMS devices and automotive style outputs, including Analog, I2C, SPI, CANN, in ceramic, FR4, and flex boards, using design rules across all the required substrate materials including rules and techniques for high temperature operations.
- Perform complex electro-mechanical design and visualization of MEMS, assemblies, tools, and systems, using knowledge of low noise electrical engineering principals, using PCB and FCB design rules.
- Design and develop automotive sensor modules, using Solid Works and Eagle CAD software.
- Perform tasks to design and develop modules, housings, molds, pins, connectors, and electronic interconnects, using knowledge of automotive com-protocols.
- Study current and cutting-edge module communication and vehicle integration techniques.
- Develop, perform, and direct testing and troubleshooting processes for internal and competitive modules.
- Perform tasks to understand module market requirements and conditions.
- Supervise the work of engineers and technicians who assist in specific assignments and work jointly with other engineers.
- Train operators and technician to processes and standards for manufacturing or testing.
- Perform work to assist in quality and reliability issues across the enterprise, using knowledge of DMFEA and PFMEA processes.
- Have authority over NCMR'S and other quality related forms.
Experience Required: 5 years' experience as an Engineer in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or closely related engineering field in design and manufacture of MEMS devices.
Skill set Requirements (Special Requirements):
Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience in:
- MEMS sensor elements, dimensions, structure, catalog of MEMS, DIE attach issues and options.
- MEMS devices and automotive style outputs, including Analog, I2C, SPI, CANN, in ceramic, FR4, and flex boards.
- Low noise electrical engineering principals, using PCB and FCB design rules.
- Solid Works and Eagle CAD software.
- DMFEA and PFMEA processes.
Degree Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or closely related engineering field.
Travel: Domestic travel up to 2 trips per month, for a maximum of 14 days. International travel up to 2 trips annually, for a maximum of 14 days.
