Frito-Lay Supply Chain Transformation & Engineering is seeking a Controls & Information Systems Senior Engineer to define strategy for plant automation and system integration.
Responsibilities- Define Controls and IT scope of processing, packaging, and/or material handling systems to meet functional and business requirements.
- Lead cross-functional reviews of electrical design, controls configuration, and functional specification documentation, provided by external vendors.
- Assess new IT/OT technology and develop integration strategies to pilot and commercialize.
- Manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Prepare bid packages for system integrators and equipment manufacturers.
- Provide direction to diverse groups such as IT, external vendors, and plant resources.
- Develop reporting and visualization tools to improve operations performance.
- Define system validation requirements, develop validation documentation, generate and execute test protocols.
- Provide on-site start-up engineering support during line commissioning.
Compensation & Benefits:
The expected compensation range for this position is between $68,000 - $113,850 based on a full-time schedule. Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually. Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement. Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering REQUIRED
- 5+ years experience in Controls Engineering, Robotics, Systems Integration, or Machine Design
- Consumer Packaged Goods experience with a focus on automation and control systems
- Ability to reduce complex problems to a simple set of solutions
- Ability to communicate technical and business information effectively
- Superior team building skills to work with all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of industrial networks, controls software, and MES
- Project management skills
- Ability to travel 40%
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands on experience with material handling systems (Palletizing, Conveyance, Sortation, & ASRS)
- Hands on experience with functional safety systems (GuardLogix Safety PLC and/or hardwired safety)
- Hands on experience with primary & secondary packaging equipment (VFFS, Case Packing, Palletizing)
- Hands on robotics experience (Kawasaki or Yaskawa)
- Development & troubleshooting experience with Rockwell, Beckhoff, Siemens, or Yaskawa PLC's
- Experience with SCADA & DCS systems (Wonderware, AVEVA OMI, GE Proficy)
