Join our Endoscopy team as a Senior Endoscopy Tech where you will assist in the performance of Endoscopy procedures within scope of practice and under direct supervision of Registered Nurse/Physician.
• Assists with advanced endoscopic procedures to include, but not limited to, Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography, Endoscopic Ultrasonography, and Fine Needle Aspiration.
• Serves as an endoscopy expert, acts as a resource, and participates in advanced training.
• Ensures endoscopy rooms are ready for procedures, including all case-specific supplies and equipment are clean, stocked, and ready for use in compliance with established standards.
• Maintains cleanliness of equipment and area throughout the endoscopy procedure.
• Anticipates and keeps the physician and team informed of patient needs regarding case. Takes initiative to utilize appropriate support services to resolve issues.
• Ensures proper transportation and notification of patient and equipment.
• Organizes room cleanup and ensures efficient room turnover, including decontaminating equipment and logging as necessary.
• Coordinates outside vendors, collaborates with departments, and trains others as needed. Provides individualized patient care based on established standards of practice.
• Prepares patients for assessment, procedure, and post-op observation as per standards of patient care and specific procedure to be performed. Conducts manual cleaning of endoscopes per manufacturing guidelines and/or Infection Control Flexible Endoscopy program.
This is a full-time (32 hours/week) position with 8 hour varied shifts with call.
Qualifications
Required skills and Certification:
• American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Provider
• One year recent experience as an Endo Tech with exposure to advanced procedures
• Must be comfortable in a fast-paced high stress environment
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and follow instructions in English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Education/Experience:
• EMT or CNA. S.G.N.A. Associates Program-GI Technical Specialist Certification Previous procedural technical experience.
