The Senior Email Developer is responsible for the coding, producing, proofing, testing, and troubleshooting HTML email campaigns. The Email Developer produces optimized and responsive HTML emails and is responsible for ensuring a consistent email experience across all email clients and devices. They must have extreme attention to detail and extensive experience and proficiency in HTML, CSS, and modular email development in an email marketing system.
The Email Developer must also thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and have excellent organizational skills. If you’re someone who can handle a high volume of work, cope with shifting priorities, and problem-solve quickly — this is the ideal job for you.
How You'll Shine:
- Understand industry best practices related to email development and deployment.
- Responsive/adaptive email experience. Portfolio examples required.
- Convert client-provided assets (PSD/HTML/Images/wireframes) into fully responsive emails.
- Work with leads to implement best practices and department processes.
- Works closely with Digital Marketing & Social Media teams to support the execution of brand and marketing campaigns and creative deliverables through email channels.
- Ensure delivery of a strong digital impact through creative design and compatibility.
- Demonstrates project management skills by seeing projects through completion.
- Collaborates with cross-functional creative brand team(s) as needed.
- Understand and enforce the brand guidelines for assigned work.
- Comfortably handle change requests and provide quick and efficient solutions.
- Proactively provide ideas and solutions towards the improvement of the process and the business.
- Active participation in brainstorming and ideation.
What You'll Bring:
- Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS and email best practices.
- Experience with modular email development in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (formerly ExactTarget) or a similar email marketing platform.
- Experience in rendering and testing across email clients and devices through Litmus or a similar email rendering tool.
- Solid grasp of web design principles and an understanding of front-end web and design framework technologies.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, and AMPscript.
- BFA in Computer Science / Graphic Design / Email Marketing or related degree
- Strong PC Skills (MS Office)
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, inVision, Figma/Sketch or related prototyping tools.
- Knowledge of email marketing systems and workflow tools.
- Familiarity with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and other email compliance regulations is a plus.
- Ability to self-manage time and meet expected deadlines, completing work on time and within the hours allocated.
- Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere with minimal supervision.
- 5-8+ years of relevant experience in email, brand and digital design.
- Prior experience within travel & hospitality a plus.
- Knowledge of marketing, all forms of advertising, and digital experiences.
Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.
