TheSenior Electricianis responsible for the on-site generation of renewable energy at all plants in their geographical region portfolio. The Senior Electrician will be responsible for operating, maintaining and monitoring renewable energy assets and energy infrastructure projects through close collaboration with RWECE's site operators, engineers, asset managers, project managers and developers as well as on-site subcontractors. The Senior Electrician will act as the lead electrician for RWECE's assets as circumstances dictate. This will involve assigning work to other electricians, mentoring electricians, apprentice electricians as well as other members of the work team. The Senior Electrician is expected to organize work and provide feedback to the Plant or O & M Manager. The Senior Electrician is expected to have strong knowledge related to low / medium/ high voltage ac and dc electrical systems. Specific knowledge of electrical construction techniques and maintenance of electrical systems as related to power plants is necessary.
The Senior Electrician will be responsible for planned and corrective maintenance and event response for RWECE's assets in their region. The Senior Electrician will furthermore be responsible for ensuring all operations and maintenance activities in the region are performed in accordance with industry best practices, industry best safety practices, RWECE procedures, plans, and guidelines as well as all pertinent laws and regulations. The position may require the Senior Electrician to work weekends / holidays based on work load demand.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plant Operations
- Work as a team member in production of renewable energy at all plants in a particular region, ensuring that plants operate within design parameters in a reliable, safe and efficient manner
- Make repairs to all electrical appliances and report results to the Plant Manage / O&M Manager
- Coordinate and resolve operational abnormalities
- Plant Maintenance
- Coordinate maintenance and repair of plant components; troubleshoot and resolve problems that may arise
- Perform preventive/predictive maintenance to ensure long term profitability, plant reliability and risk minimization
- The Senior Electrician will also assign work to other electricians, apprentice electrician and others in the work group as required
- Technical Support
- Perform operational repairs as required to support Asset Management and Project Development
- Technical Expertise
- Stay abreast of regulations, codes and standards as they relate to the industry
- Develop relationships with suppliers that result in beneficial synergies
- Work in-tandem with contractors as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- Licensed Electrician and or equivalent experience in the power industry
- Electrical engineering degree desired
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a related renewable energy field, with direct expertise in electrical engineering preferred
- Minimum 5 years' experience in power plant/high voltage substation operations environment
- Experience operating a power plant
- Prior experience with power generation, renewable and gas facilities is a plus
- High voltage testing experience is a plus
- Low / medium voltage experience and certification strongly preferred
- Electrical construction experience preferably in PV solar
Job Skills:
- Excellent technical, analytical and communication skills

- Knowledge of power electronics and circuitry
- Knowledge of power generation equipment and technologies
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies
- Ability to work within tight deadlines
- Ability to multi task
