Job Summary
This position is a hybrid role (3x per week onsite) that will be based at our headquarters in Fremont, California. The Senior Electrical Test Engineer will be reporting to the Director of Hardware Engineering.

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Electrical Test Engineer to join our dynamic Hardware Engineering team. As a Senior Electrical Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in successfully developing and validating new products from design to manufacturing, ensuring high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead board-level and product-level testing of integrated hardware and firmware.
  • Lead verification including tracing to requirements, creating test protocols, performing tests, and documenting test reports.
  • Develop test algorithms and automated scripts, data acquisition and measurement systems, and test fixtures, to support prototype and production testing with a focus on repeatability and reproducibility for PCA verification.
  • Develop test fixtures based on test criteria including both hardware and software fixtures/tools to automate test platforms.
  • Support product NPI and product tester development at CM or JDM.
  • Support and own testing and design for different hardware circuits used in power electronics converters.
  • Conduct the validation, qualification, and selection process for semiconductors and magnetics, among other components inside the hardware designs.
  • Build automated test setup for high voltage high power converters.
  • Build prototype components and assemblies, optimizing components to meet system requirements
  • Collaborating with design engineering, NPI, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless product transitions from prototype to mass production.
  • Develop and refine prototyping and release strategies to optimize the efficiency, yield, and product quality during the NPI phase.

We are seeking an experienced electrical engineer who has:
  • Bachelor' or Master's in electrical engineering with a proven record of working in Power Electronics Labs building or testing power electronics.
  • 8+ Experience in power electronics design, development, and manufacturing.
  • Solid Understanding of high-voltage power systems, DC/DC (isolated and non-isolated), and DC/AC topologies used in high-power converters.
  • Experience in identifying corner cases for testing, creating test setups, conducting tests, and reporting and analyzing test results for power electronics projects.
  • Solid understanding of Python and extensive experience in developing test scripts, communicating with various test instruments, and running automated tests.
  • Hands-on approach, whether it be building a prototype, performing testing, or supporting manufacturing.
  • Solid reporting and writing skills. Ability to capture and analyze data and provide compelling reports showing conclusions and future work.
  • In-depth knowledge of development and manufacturing processes such as PCBA manufacturing, machining, injection molding, assembly, and automation.
  • Demonstrated success working in a cross-disciplinary, multi-cultural environment.
  • Experience developing performance validation, environmental testing, and reliability testing.
  • Experience working with Hardware in the Loop (HIL) Platforms
