We are an established civil/ environmental engineering and surveying firm based in St. Charles, Illinois. The firm was originally founded based on its expertise in water/wastewater engineering. The firm has expanded its services to include traditional Civil/Site, as well as Watershed Resources and Utility Infrastructure Rehabilitation. Currently, we serve over 80 municipalities throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with experience in design and construction of electrical distribution systems, back up power systems, motor control schemes, and instrumentation and control with expertise in water and wastewater treatment facilities. This position will also be required to provide Electrical Engineering consistent with the long term goal of supporting ASME services for a broader range of projects. This opportunity is reserved for someone who can make an immediate impact and that is seeking a long term career solution. The functions of the position include developing the basis of design, coordination of electrical elements in support of process design, directing the design team for preparation of drawings and specifications, as well as support of construction phase services. Please note, US citizenship is required, as the firm does not currently have the infrastructure to support sponsorship.
The candidate must have demonstrated technical expertise with a wide range of infrastructure projects and extensive experience serving municipal clients. This individual will report directly to the Chief Structural Engineer (in responsible charge of ASME) and will likely be required to make presentations to clients and elected officials on a regular basis. Furthermore, this individual will be responsible for preparation of proposals, tracking productivity, monitoring project schedules and budgets. As such this individual must possess outstanding work ethic, excellent communication skills and understand the use of multiple leadership styles.
- Expertise with low and medium Voltage industrial distribution
- BS in Electrical Engineering
- 15 years related experience or combination of education and experience
- Firm working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NFPA 70) including Article 500-Hazardous (Classified) locations
- Experience with preparing short circuit studies, protective device coordination studies, and arc flash hazards analyses.
- Instrumentation and control and Supervisory Control and Date Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Expertise in preparation and review of electrical schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and single line drawings
- Experience in the preparation procurement specifications for electrical distributions and controls equipment.
- Experience in providing support for project construction on-site testing, system startup and troubleshooting.
Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 per year plus 1.5x overtime.
