Position Title: Senior EHR Support Analyst

POSITION SUPMMARY:
The position will support all clinical staff in the effective utilization and optimization of electronic applications. The Senior EHR Analyst will perform highly specialized complex information system analysis for an integrated system and will possess a strong EHR system knowledge, workflow analysis, analytical/problem solving skills to improve and enhance our systems. Must be able to work independently and be able to collaborate one on one or in a team effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
ASSIGNMENT DUTIES:
- Experienced clinical super user and clinical system administrator in Dentrix and Epic
- Participates in communication with clinical staff related to assessing and defining clinical operational workflow, clinical system requirements and solutions. Makes recommendations.
- Assists in collecting clinical outcomes data and performs analysis in support of clinical process improvement initiatives.
- Provides clinical systems expertise and training to users as needed.
- Develops and maintains custom clinical content for the electronic medical records system, electronic dental record or any clinical interface software as assigned by Medical Director or CMO.
- Provides detail analysis, validation, and correction of data within clinical applications including EMR, Interface Engine application and associated modules as assigned by Medical Director/CMO.
- Provides clinical application/system tuning when appropriate.
- Recommends and supports streamlining of processes to increase clinical system functionality and productivity.
- As needed performs post clinical system upgrade training to all providers and medical staff.
- Provides recommendations as how to best manage direct messaging, phone interface applications, phone messaging system, patient portal and any other applications that are tied to clinical systems or appointment system; any issues are to be reported and escalated.
- Train lab technicians on lab workflows.
- Support medical records with OnBase back-office scanning, install updates to OnBase as needed.
- Communicate system updates to clinical and dental staff and notify of enhancement packages before they go into effect.
- Provide analysis and support for clinical applications used throughout the clinical departments; including but not limited to, EHR.
- Oversee and monitor clinical related helpdesk issues assigned are resolved in a timely and thorough manner.
- Implement trainings for internal staff/providers on various Epic functionality
- Verify daily Audit Trail report of lab techs' access inside EPIC to ensure compliance with Quest contract.
- Run the daily medication administration report (MAR) inside reporting workbench (RWB) to catch MAR's that are overdue before they expire.
- Ensure productivity reports for departments are maintained and provided to Director each month.
- Confirm the Rejected Dental Claims report from FTP FileZilla site are maintained monthly and provided to dental and finance director.
- Update OCHIN with attesting provider Meaningful Use (MU) data on a quarterly basis. Verify that MU reports are given to providers. Align workflows with MU requirements.
- Monitor EMR work queues and billing work queues.
- Assess workflows and develop more efficient workflows based on the needs of the clinic
- Participates in communication with clinical staff related to assessing and defining clinical operational workflow, clinical system requirements and solutions. Makes recommendations.
- Serve as EPIC liaison to OCHIN and Dentrix liaison to HCN. Work with OCHIN and HCN to create JIRA's, find solutions to problems and coordinate workflow enhancements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field/discipline such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- A minimum of five years' experience in a healthcare environment working with clinicians and proven understanding in the areas of implementation, training, maintenance and support of an electronic health record (EHR) system.
- 2 years' experience working with Epic or similar EHR system.
- Strong knowledge base of certification requirements for Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Dentists, Optometrists, Mental Health Professionals, Dental Assistant and Medical Assistants.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities with the ability to convey clear instructions.
- Advanced computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Crystal Reports, internet research and experience working with EMR/EDR software.
