Position Summary:
Ascension is looking for an experienced Senior Director of Marketing Performance to lead our data-driven marketing strategies. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a strong background in data-centered demand insights and capture, customer data-based analysis, database marketing, and marketing measurement and reporting against business goals and KPIs at significant enterprise scale. This role is pivotal in driving Ascension’s marketing effectiveness and optimizing our outreach efforts to meet organizational business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and execution of data-centric marketing strategies aligned with Ascension’s overall business goals and objectives - helping to define marketing KPIs that align with the recommended plan and that ladder to business targets.
- Marketing Measurement and Reporting: Responsible for measurement of Marketing Performance across channels including conversion and attribution - as well as alignment across teams on parallel roadmaps and consistent tracking and reporting, including technologies, studio, experience, and more. Responsible for regular Marketing Performance reporting to leaders and business units. Leads build of SFMC ROI dashboard for campaign 1:1 analysis and direct attribution, including implementation of control group methodology.
- Performance Optimization: Lead real-time, iterative marketing campaign optimization recommendations - as well as regular performance trends for continuous improvement across marketing team functions. Lead all marketing testing and research - and recommendations for application.
- Data-Driven Demand Generation: Develop and implement demand generation strategies that leverage customer data insights to target and engage the right audiences effectively - including CDP requirements for campaign querying and audience segment building + ongoing refinements. Works closely with ADSI partners on patient and claims data analyses to inform campaign targeting and content optimizations
- Customer Data Analysis: Utilize customer data analytics to gain insights into patient and client behavior, enabling personalized marketing campaigns and improved customer experiences, including segmentation analysis and audience building. Leads persona development and management for alignment across the organization on patient and consumer engagement.
- Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify and pursue opportunities for new customer acquisition, leveraging data analytics and market research as well as leveraging prospecting data and propensity based data models for effective targeting
Operational Readiness: Support operational readiness reviews and continuous improvement - identifying points of friction that inhibit performance and tracking/reporting trends for resolution. - Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of data analysts, marketing professionals, and other relevant staff to deliver exceptional results and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Data Infrastructure: Oversee the development and maintenance of a robust marketing data infrastructure, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., HIPAA). Oversees all campaign-related site tagging and tracking, including server side GTM (Google Tag Manager) solution for HIPAA compliance.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including strategy, technologies, data science, experience, studio and more, to ensure alignment and coordination of data-driven initiatives.
- High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Data Science, Business, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in data-centered marketing and analytics.
- Proven experience in healthcare, hospitality, and financial service industries is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and platforms, such as Google Analytics, CRM systems, and data visualization tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations, including HIPAA.
- Results-oriented with a focus on driving measurable business outcomes.
- Data Analysis: Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, including data segmentation, predictive modeling, and data visualization. Ability to extract actionable insights from complex datasets.
- Demand Generation Expertise: Demonstrated experience in developing and executing data-centered demand generation strategies to drive lead generation and conversion.
- Customer Data Proficiency: Strong understanding of customer data analytics, including customer segmentation, behavioral analysis, and customer journey mapping.
- Prospecting: Proven track record in identifying and targeting new prospects and customers through data-driven strategies.
- Team Leadership: Experience managing and leading a team of up to 16 data and CRM analytic professionals, fostering their growth and development.
- Data Infrastructure Management: Knowledge of data management best practices, including data quality assurance, data governance, and data security.
- Performance Measurement: Ability to establish KPIs, track marketing campaign performance, and use data to optimize strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the healthcare, hospitality, and financial service industries, understanding their unique challenges and opportunities in marketing data and analytics.
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of data privacy regulations, especially HIPAA, and the ability to ensure marketing practices comply with these regulations.
This position oversees a team of up Marketing Performance and CRM analytic professionals, responsible for data analysis, CDP and audience data management, and marketing data-related functions. The Senior Director of Marketing Performance will provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to this team to ensure the successful execution of data-driven marketing initiatives and campaigns.
