The Role

Willis Towers Watson is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our software development team. As a full-time member of our software development team, you will be responsible for software configuration management related tasks. 

This position will work closely with the Application development team to ensure that final releases are up to organizational standards and are released successfully without any negative impact to our Customers. This position reports to a software development project manager, with matrix reporting to a functional manager from the US Retirement Systems Group.

Job Duties:

  • Building and deploying solutions to non-production and production environments to support the Software Development Life Cycle for the Retirement Systems Group.
  • Requires after-hours release support, so a flexible time schedule is required
  • Resolve JIRA tickets related to deployment tasks

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a DevOps engineer.
  • Availability during off hours and weekends.
  • Experience with website and virtual directory setups using Microsoft IIS.
  • Experience building, deploying and troubleshooting .NET Applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft TFS and Git.
  • Experience with SQL Server and patching SQL Server scripts.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (Pipelines are a plus).
  • Proficient in writing efficient T-SQL scripts to extract information from SQL Server databases.
  • Proficient in writing PowerShell scripts (Azure PowerShell a plus).
  • Familiarity with Octopus Deploy is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow through to completion.
  • Ability to support a software development team’s timelines and targets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and the desire to be a strong team player. 
  • Familiarity with change management systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with principles of continuous integration and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

This is a remote work from home role that can be based anywhere in the United States. Flexibility to work some weekends and holidays on a rotation system is required.

Compensation and Benefits (US)

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role.

Compensation
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is 80,000 – 120,000 USD per year. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
