SUMMARY
The Sr DevOps Engineer will work collaboratively with software engineering, operations, and architects to streamline the movement of changes from request through development and into production. This Sr DevOps Engineer will automate and streamline IT operations processes, codify our infrastructure, and build or implement tooling to improve development monitoring and operations, and recommend DevOps tooling.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Assists development teams, infrastructure, and operations with the use of automation technologies to enable IT service improvements
  • Document, design and re-design various processes to continually improve service to the organization.
  • Serve as a thought leader and partner to security, compliance and architecture teams
  • Work closely with IT team members and stakeholders and agile teams.
  • Develop and socialize operational standards for teams throughout IT.
  • Serve as a critical voice, enabling quality practices throughout IT.
  • Assists in defining DevOps and quality guidelines and standards
  • Works closely with architects to assure all systems are in line with our strategy
  • Evaluates existing applications and platforms and provides recommendations for improving performance by conducting gap analysis, identifying feasible alternative solutions and assisting in the scope of modifications
  • Builds automated deployments and feedback mechanisms using configuration management technology
  • Leads and performs scripts maintenance and updates due to changes in requirements or implementations
  • Leads and performs ongoing routine DevOps maintenance tasks
  • Leads and perform automated/load tests and address any issues
  • Works with vendors to resolve problems and develop solutions
  • Serve as an advocate for quality practices including the development of automated testing to improve business processes.
  • Act as a critical part of a multi-team effort to deliver, manage and maintain configuration automation to meet business needs.
  • Responsible for the day to day management and administration of Infrastructure as Code components to meet business needs.
  • Manage CI & CD tools and pipeline as a partner to development teams.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) capabilities through software development, guiding vendor and product selection and developing standards
  • Experience with InfoSec practices
  • Create and maintain configuration standards for software and infrastructure
  • Monitor technology and organizational trends in IaC, CI / CD, DevOps and DevSecOps in order to mature and continually improve IT services
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
  • Complete all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field required
  • Must have 5-8 years of relevant work experience
  • Expert understanding of Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and DevOps concepts
  • Advanced experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef, Chocolatey, and Terraform (Azure Cloud) or equivalents
  • Advanced experience with programmable infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code IaC tools and principles.
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructures (Azure, GCP)
  • Experience of relational and non-relational database technologies.
  • Experience developing software or scripting (JavaScript, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, .NET or Java).
  • Desire to implement best practices across development IT operations.
  • Experience with agile/scrum delivery teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in driving results
  • Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical roles in the organization
  • Experience developing software or meeting operational needs with code and script (JavaScript, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, .NET or Java)
  • Advocate of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
  • Experience with software quality principles and associated tools for testing and analysis
  • Experience with CI and CD practices and supporting tools
  • Experience with PaaS technologies such as containers, container orchestration and scheduling, service registration / discovery and monitoring
  • Ability to communicate technically as well as non-technically across various levels of business
  • Experience in a highly regulated environment with demonstrated success working with internal and external compliance partners
  • Experience with automation in dynamic environments such as IaaS and PaaS (on premises, hosted and hybrid)
  • Experience with manual and automated testing and quality practices.
  • Experience with platforms (Linux, UNIX or Windows).
