Description
As a Sr Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in bringing innovative ideas to fruition. This role, along with other team members, will be responsible for the development, implementation and support of the Finance Data Mart. This involves planning, analysis, detailed design, developing, testing and implementation of the components to ensure calculation and reports meet business requirements throughout program lifecycle. Participate in and provide oversight for activities associated with the Application Development Life Cycle including design, construction, testing, documenting and implementation of IT solutions. Collaborate and facilitate collaboration with team members as well as across teams and sections to complete work in a timely manner. Provide coverage and support of production application systems.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Experience with table loads, updates, inserts using SAS and/or SQL functions
- Work with reporting teams, business lines, source system owners and other groups to identify required data in order to develop technical and business process solutions.
- Support production environments, ensuring that monthly processes execute efficiently and reliably
- Troubleshooting and problem solving with an analytical mindset
- Process driven and detail oriented
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
- Possess excellent time management and prioritization skills in order to meet multiple deadlines; comfortable working in a high-paced / high production area
- Self-driven, ability to work independently and facilitate change
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in analytical role using SAS / SQL programming experience
- Extensive understanding of relational databases and ability to effectively utilize statistical software
- Advanced SQL understanding
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills, a superior customer service orientation and advanced analytical capability
- Competent use of Microsoft Office applications to include Microsoft Access, Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word.
- Strong teamwork and analytical problem-solving ability
Education and Certifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline; A bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
